The only time on the EU thread I reported someone was for bing called an idiot three times warning the poster to stop it or I wpuld report him then he called me a 12 year old, reported him, and @Bruce Wayne closed the thread will this happen in the members lounge?
I like banter, but not persistence insults, thinking about it the EU thread had run its course for now - so closing it was justified it was getting heated all over the place on both sides!
Also @Bruce Wayne had used Google that much it was in melt down - only joking Brucelol

(Neg) rep went for two reasons. Firstly, the forum software stopped supporting it, so we'd have been left with a vulnerable plug-in from a security perspective. To my knowledge, it isn't a functionality that has been re-built by the dev community surrounding our forum software either, so it would need us to hire a developer specifically to build and maintain it just for us. Secondly, it became something that was abused by some to use their strong 'neg powers' to blitz the reputation of new members, which isn't what it's designed for. It created a situation whereby I'm not sure it would have been restored even if the software did exist (which it doesn't).

Fair enough from a technical aspect.

What sticks in my craw is the heady miasma of Elitism and automatic assumption of entitlement (etc) wafting from the Upgraded (don't forget the upgraded lids, you're even better than the plebs now) Members Lounge, that due to having a few bob to spare, member '@Ivor Lott' is deemed more able to hold a 'proper' discussion on 'sensitive' topics than say member '@churchmouse'

Either everyone counts or nobody counts - I thought that the old saw of...'everybody's equal but some are more equal than others' had well been laid to rest.
