Pochettino

Because he consistently delivered champions league football and progression into the latter rounds on a fraction of the spend of his rivals?

Those clubs don't care about that, they will always get champions league and will always have money to spend.

United obviously less so....

He may not have won a cup that is a valid criticism but it's also not the end of the story he transitioned Spurs into a top team took them into the champions league year after year, challenged for the title and got to a CL final all with a very small budget comparative to the other top teams in this country. Of course he needs to prove he can win things too, but if you don't think he did a great job at Spurs I wonder what you think is a good job? We'd kill for that kind of job.? Do you remember what Spurs were pre-Poch?

I didn't say he didn't do a good job. He did manage to stumble on one of this eras top strikers of course which helps too. He has done well and is no doubt a good manager, he is still a risk for a big club though. Obviously something weird has gone on at Spurs too which cant be ignored.

He'd cost us an arm and a leg but would be well worth missing those appendages. Unfortunately, I just don't think we'd be able to get him. Personally, instead of us trying to find the next Poch we should have just spent big in the first place now we're such an unattractive proposition we're having to look at has beens and never will bes.

As with Mourinho the options for a manager like Pochettino are not as varied as some might think. If his desire is to stay in England then he is practically tied to Man Utd and just at the moment they still seem invested into the OGS project.
The Ajax manager is linked to Bayern and that leaves Real Madrid or Barcelona. So, he is more or less limited to three clubs all of whom have a manager at the moment.

I certainly think Everton should at least enquire and I think we would almost definitely be rejected but I do think that there are not as many viable options out there as some may think.

Not dismissing the good job he done with Spurs but I would question more what Spurs were like pre Kane.........

It was the first thing that came up when I googled what the champions league was worth to clubs, which was the point I was trying to make about why Pochettino would have his pick of a dozen clubs in the summer.

No endorsement of Marca was either stated or intended.

Fair enough, looked like you was highlighting they are the Champions of Europe, like we need reminding.

Thanks for clarifying I wondered if you were Spanish and had some sort of personal issue with them.

If you read back you'll hopefully see the point I was trying to make was about the ludicrous amounts any team in the CL is making now and therefore how valuable an achievement pochettino's time at Spurs was, even without a trophy...

Here, this is probably a better page to link to
