Pochettino sacked

Mourinho wasn't my first choice for sure. I was hoping for Silva obviously. The point i was making is that when you get to my age, long term thinking loses its appeal. And yes i did laugh at Mourinho's plight at Man U but in hindsight would i swap our 'project' for Man U's League & Europa cup wins? Without hesitation.

Some of those 'core players' may change their minds now Mourinho is in change, who knows? The stadium debt has been renegotiated at at very low interest rate over a 30 year period so hardly an issue. As for money in the kitty, the money is there, just depends if Levy/Lewis want to spend it.

We still have a lucrative naming rights deal to negotiate and a potential takeover (a US name seems likely given our NFL deal).

So while it is heart warming that so many opposition fans are concerned for Spurs long term future i don't think they need to lose any sleep over it.

I think it's touching you think discussion on a football forum constitutes deep concern.

I also think the whole argument is based on the assumption that he's going to win you trophies. It's one thing to win them at United and quite another at Spurs. For this to be worthwhile he has to win them though. And significant ones.

If he wins nothing he will have matched Pochettino's haul. If he wins a League cup he will have exceeded it.

We have won 2 league cups since 1991. At this particular time I would take another one in a heartbeat and view it as an achievement.

Poch lost seven semi finals and finals at Spurs. Beggars can't be choosers .

What trophies aren't significant ?

Poch is probably one of the most in demand managers in World football, why do people think he would come here? Do the likes of Watford, Newcastle, Soton fans think they could attract the best managers like we seem to believe we can? Honestly some of us need a massive reality check. I know we are Everton, I know we are a comatose giant but let’s have some common sense. Our squad is a mess. Our whole structure is a mess. We’re getting a new Stadium, which means the new Manager won’t have the necessary funds to strengthen.
Arsenal hardly spent when their Stadium was getting built, ditto Spurs and they both had Champions League income. What makes people think we are gonna be different? We are a mess and I am mightily concerned of what happens on the pitch in the next few years if the Stadium gets the go-ahead. I honestly think it could be a choice of resigning ourselves to being relegation candidates for a few years or stay at the Grand Old Lady. I know we must think of the future but the next few years until we move is gonna be an extremely bumpy ride, I’m not sure the Stadium is the right thing at this minute as it’s affecting our immediate future massively. What top manager is gonna sign up when there’s those restraints? Anyone that thinks there isn’t gonna be restraint are massively deluded. There’s a reason the manager shortlist is as bad as it is. There’s a reason we got Allardyce. We’re not as attractive as we think we are. Of course, things could change if Usmanov come aboard.

After being here for around two years, my first ever non stadium post.

Two weeks after Poch's IMO unfair sacking and the new appointment,
3 games, 10 goals scored, 3 wins.
Am I happy with the new choice of manager?
NO, I honestly cannot stand him, an anti football dinosaur!

Anti-football? Harsh.

16 goals in 3 games and 3 wins. I'd call that entertainment.

He’s far from an anti football dinosaur when you’ve dealt with Allardyce up close.

The football was quite good today but he ain’t yet had a chance to get his anti football approach through yet.
The thing that’s always pi55ed me off with other football teams is the pathetic time wasting/killing the pace of the game football. At 3-1 up today it was pathetic the way our keeper went down 3 (that I can remember) times “Injured.” He has obviously been told to do this, disgusting way of playing football and it’s not what I pay way to much money to watch.
IMO, the best new rule that should be brought in is that a game is now only say 80 minutes long but the clock is only ticking while the ball is in play cos i would guess at the moment it would be less than 70?
