Pochettino sacked

I'm not great at this prediction lark.

An interesting observation was made by a Spurs insider today. Basically, both Levy and Jose have compromised on their respective normal approaches as the deal makes sense for both, short term at least. ,,

Jose gets a great job, a more than decent squad, London, but with Spurs levels of cash being made available. Levy has a ready made face for his brochure to attract naming rights for the ground.

The obvious question will ultimately get answered in the not too distant.

Looking at player spending on Transfermarkt (not sure how reliable a source it is) Levy did loosen the purse strings quite considerably in the summer so it's not a complete about face if considerable spending is agreed. Maybe the summer before with no incoming players was the anomaly.

I'm sure Levy is smart enough to know that being overly frugal is going to be hugely damaging in the long run though I can see them letting someone like Kane go who's gonna bring in a good chunk of change while only losing one player. They did it with Bale though the spending wasn't great.

They spent almost 60m on that Tangury fella who has been nothing short of horrific so far.

Mad they sack a manager when just last season he got them to the first UCL final.

Don’t know what’s happening there but from where Spurs are from when he took over I would have thought he deserved more time.

more than meets the eye here
Chelsea sacked Roberto de Matteo after winning the Champions League in Munich against Bayern !!

My only point is that people use how many trophies someone won as some sort of measuring stick. By that logic, Roberto Martinez is a better manager than Poch. Or the RS and Everton were equal over the past 5 years until the CL final last year, when the eye test would tell us something altogether different. It's delusional to go by the trophy or lack of trophy count as the only measuring stick.
Yeah of course, its much more subjective than that. In Pochettinos case I would say it was the difference in him doing a great or very good job, but he is still a top class manager. Even top class managers have a shelf life in a job though, I'm not sure he reached his but I see the argument for it

Wouldn't surprise me Levy was always like "You're doing fine as you are Poch. No need for cash".

He'll have defo promised Jose funds. He can't work under anything else.

A case of 1 season to adapt i think...would love him in blue.

@Yid4life who do you rate higher, Redknapp or Poch? I think Poch is overrated myself...think the players have carried him...

Liked them both for different reasons. We were in a much worse place when Harry took over but it just shows how hard it is for the manager when the players go on strike (like they did for Ramos).

He pushed all the right buttons in the official interview thing.

If I was Spurs fan, I would be wary, but also cautiously excited.

Agree. That was a good interview/PR exercise.

Won a few fans over. I was against his appointment but I am cautiously optimistic.

Heavy that Levy was speaking to Mourinho whilst Poch was still employed, he would still be in his job if Mourinho said no.

Imagine if Poch found that out.
