I really rate him.

Was excellent for espanyol.

He will do the biz at Spuds too.

Be off like a shot to the continent if he does well.

Somewhere nice and warm on or near the med.

I dunno why everyone thinks he is any good.

One OK season at the Saints with someone else's team. Previously:

"
Managerial career
Espanyol
In late January 2009, Pochettino became Espanyol's third coach in the 2008–09 season, with the side ranking third from bottom[6] but eventually finishing comfortably placed (10th), after the coach inclusively asked for "divine intervention".[7] He coached nine club players who were his teammates during his last year and, in early June, renewed his link for a further three years.

In the 2009–10 campaign Pochettino once again led Espanyol to a comfortable league position, in a campaign where club symbol (and his former teammate) Raúl Tamudo fell completely out of favour in the squad's rotation, even more after the January 2010 arrival of manager compatriot Pablo Osvaldo.[8]

On 28 September 2010 Pochettino extended his contract with the club for one more year, until 30 June 2012.[9] On 26 November 2012, however, following a 0–2 home loss against Getafe CF that left the Pericos in the last place with just nine points from 13 matches, his contract was terminated by mutual consent.[10]"

So, his best finish was 10th in Spain and he get's a 5 year contract at one of biggest clubs in the UK....

It could go either way. When he first took over at Southampton they became more aggressive. They started brightly last season but then faded pretty badly. They wasted a lot of money on Osvaldo in the summer and I can't really say that Wanyama was a £12m+ player.

Spurs lack balance. They shouldn't have let Caulker go, they're over-loaded with samey midfielders and they have a dearth of strikers. Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen and Eriksen are certain starters. Paulinho, Sandro and Townsend are probably worthy of a place too, so that leaves four positions up for grabs. They probably fancy Lallana and Shaw but Levy doesn't like to part with money and £60m would be a lot of selling to buy, especially as they'd have to buy first to beat off the competition and then hope to recoup a large proportion on players such as Lamela and Soldado. And that policy could leave them even more unbalanced.

Wasn't he fired after they were flirting with relegation under him?

Southampton played some nice football under him. He could do well with Spurs squad and money to spend in the transfer market. The saving grace is Levy still in charge. You know they'll sign 4 other players to play in the exact same position and then will fire Pochettino when he can't fit them all in the team and win a top 4 spot.

Awesome story on Sky about Gary Mabbutt is excited by Pochettino's appointment.

Headline:

"Pochettino excites Mabbutt" !!!

Ooooo-errrr!!!!

Plays football, couldn't care less if he does well or not though, Spurs can stay 6th or 7th where they belong.
