Players we sold too soon.

oh you......

We were and are sorely lacking in squad depth, because whenever we had a player good enough to get us a million pounds plus who wasn't in our starting 11 we had to sell them to fund our debt.

We had beckford and rodwell on the bench over the last two years and maybe we would have won an fa cup or at least got into europe.

I'm sorry but your second paragraph is a what if. So we would've beat Wigan if Rodwell and Beckford played? Or we would've finished top 5? Sorry but that's a ridiculous statement.

It's like saying if Wayne Rooney stayed at Everton we would've won the league by now.

Now then..
I was talking about Jack the other day..
I know he's a very rich lad now.. But seeing Ross playing for England must hurt him inside..
Yes or no ?

It was my dream to see the pair of them starting in midfield for both everton and england. Shame it didn't work out for the kid. Injuries takes a lot of the blame but he's never become the player I thought he was. Wasn't coached well here, made the wrong move.

Imagine at some point city will sell him to a villa or a newcastle for peanuts and their fans will groan at first and then find out he's surprisingly ace but mostly injured. Gibson mark 2.

One for the teenagers.

Harry took the team to Ipswich one winter's afternoon circa 1972 and after came back with a useless striker name of Rod Belfitt in exchange for a precocious young centre forward called David Johnson.

Johnson, of course, ended up across the Park and played for England.

Steve McMahon is another name which springs to mind.

No, that's putting words in peoples' mouths.

Let's keep this sensible.

Gibson was out vs Wigan so we played neville in midfield, Jelavic was out of from last year so we played vic. We were short of numbers over the last two years. Good first 11, but no one on the bench who could change the game.

I'm saying that part of the reason for that is anyone on the bench who we thought we could get pounds for we sold. Maybe if we had the luxury to not do that we'd have done better. Hence they were players we sold too soon.

We could have used both of them at various points since we sold them.
