For one reason or another, we had a really good team forming around 95-97

Duncan in good form, Kanchelskis, Speed, Barmby, Parkinson, Hinchcliffe getting england recognition.
Plus with the likes of Ball, Dunne, Branch & Cadamateri all coming through

Injuries and money issues occuring ruined that season, i winder what would of happened if we had kept the team a little longer and added to it.
we lost 6 on the spin around christmas time and didnt really pick up after a decent start

It’s been mention before on this thread but I reckon the club were forced financially into a lot of these sales
Shows how poorly the club was being run and being bled dry by some of our owners and their buddies

We are in a position now where we can afford to turn down 25m for a lad not in our first 11
I know it’s TV now but look at the wage bill every year compared to back them

I think ted critchley could have stayed a couple more seasons. He and Dean worked really well together and we may have got another couple of titles had we kept him. But we let him to go to Preston in 1934 and didn't seem quite the same after that.
Tommy Lawton, sold to Chelsea, sounds familiar. Broke their scoring record in his first season, Everton this, that and the other.
