Players That Should Follow Martinez Out The Door

I think it's a disgrace the way the players downed tools over the past few months. They basically just showed up against Chelsea and the second half against Man United in the FA cup.If they had any sense of professional pride in them then what happened at Anfield the King Power and at Sunderland the other night would not have happened.A lot of these players have failed to pass the test more often than not in the biggest of games going right back to the Moyes years. There's a lot of ruthless decisions to be made and a lot of deadwood to clear out of the squad. We need to get players who have that winning mentality into the club.Hopefully Joe Royle and David Unsworth will give a good few of the younger players a run out on Sunday.

Not a fan of players downing tools. But if they hadn't, Roberto might still be here (after all, if we had won the last two games, we would be in the Top 10 and that could have been good enough for the board.

I don't think anybody can blame the players for the first half in the FA Cup Final. More Martinez's tactics and how he setup the team.. can't believe anyone would think that players wouldn't want to win a cup.

Fact is though when a manager goes against a popular player/figure, he risks loses the fans and players. Just ask Jose Mourinho.

instead of just coming with an insult, why dont you tell me what you disagree with here? You want all of those to stay? Some of them? And who?
If you can't see how good a player Mcarthy is then i'm at a loss for words. Admittedly his form of late hasn't been the best but ask yourself why ?

Don't get all the hate for McCarthy. The only one who hasn't gone backwards over the past 2 seasons is rom

McCarthy is a defensive player. Give him a chance with a manager who understands the defensive side of the game
To an extent I agree with this hence why I've previously said I would happily give McCarthy another year to prove his worth to the club.

Admittedly he's not been in form for the past two years which is a worry in itself, but our setup under Martinez arguably didn't help him.

As you mention, he's not the box-to-box midfielder we'd either like or the role he meant to fulfil. His passing and positioning isn't good enough.

Yet, playing purely as a defensive midfielder with someone next to him who can fulfil that role and he may thrive again, as he has the engine to.

However, if our new manager wants midfielders who actually do more than simply sweep up then I think he may have his work cut out.

With regards to certain departures: Koné, Niasse, McGeady, Pienaar, Osman and Hibbert are dead certs for me. The rest can prove their worth!

Osman Pienaar Gibson Kone McGeady Should be gone tomorrow.
Osman in particular 4 seasons ago. NEA if we have to give the lot away, it'll lower the wage bill by about £10m or so. Doubt we'd make as much as half of that selling them, tbh.

Although Barry's coming towards the end of his shelf-life, he's been our most consistent player this season, but he'll need using sparingly. We could get along without McCarthy so if dough is required, he'd be the first one I'd be selling.

Barkley needs a midfielder who can hold the ball & make a forward pass. All McCarthy does is go backwards & sideways. Yes, he mops up, but that's all he does to any effect. He is the Andy Johnson of midfielders. All running around and not much else.

Flog Stones,Mirallas,Lukaku and Niasse
Bin Osman , McGeady , Kone and Pienaar.
Jury is out on Robles ,Gibson and Cleverley
Keep Oviedo so he can keep the physios busy , dont want em getting rusty.
Make Hibbert captain and play him up front all season.
Re-sign Nuno Valente on a 10year contract
Play Vinny Samways in goal

Dont get some of the shouts for Osman and Hibbert to be kept on in coaching roles, both should have been moved on years ago

Howards gone already, Hibbert, Gibson (cos he's always injured) Osman (past it) Pienaar (also past it) Mcgeady (dog turd on toast) Kone ( cat turd butties)

I'd give Niasse another season we can't say we haven't give the lad a chance then. Cleverly, Barry et all all as swuad fillers.

We'd be mad to get rid of too many at once, bringing in 8 or 9 players in one go never works imo.

I know Tim Howard is leaving, but he would be my first choice.

This article say everything.

From someone who has cost us soo many points this season, it is seem like he is burning all ships, related too Everton.

Im not going too miss him.

I'm not seeing what part of that article makes you upset at Howard. What do you want him to say? That was the proper response to any media outlet.

If we are going to recruit a top manager. And give him the funds the move us forward. McCarthy will be gone in 12months.
Nowhere near good enough. A very limited footballer

No, he's a very good footballer who has not been playing well in a team full of players who haven't been playing well for whatever reason.... be it manager, confidence or just not arsed.... a new manager coming in and a bit of faith shown towards him and you will see how important he can be to this team. It's just differing opinions pal.
