Jenson Metcalfe seems to have nailed down a regular starting place for Chesterfield. Another 90 minutes today as they won 5-2 at Morecambe. Chesterfield are 6th.
Can he make it as a decent squad player for us in the prem? Seems to be doing well in L2, just turned 20. Another couple seasons on loan at higher levels. Or does he need to be L1 + already if he's likely to make it here?

….they were indeed, although Osman and Barkley had serious injuries at key stage in their youth development. Ironic that Barkley and Gordon hardly set the world alight in their loan spells.
Just goes to show tho, it's not just about good performances and setting the world alight (although that certainly helps!) when out on loan, it's also about getting used to the realities of real football and proper games that really matter, about being part of a squad and dropped/not playing and how you react, can you get back in the team, support your mates, train well, when you're not playing etc. All important aspects of being a pro that they need to learn as well.

….not so much in Barkley’s case. I might have this wrong but I have it that Moyes was the Manager who sent him on loan to Leeds and told Warnock he couldn’t be trusted when the opposition had the ball, Warnock hardly played him.

Haha, nice work Moyes 🤦‍♂️

he was only on loan for a month and started 3 games, though i think warnock played him out wide

Blackpool drew 2-2 last night with their 36 year reserve keeper replacing Harry Tyrer. Apparently could have done better with one of the goals but also made a couple of decent saves.

Tyler Onyango finally back in the Stockport starting XI tonight for their league home game against Reading. He played the full game in a back three and got an assist as County ran out 4-1 winners. Stockport are 10th.

Francis Okoronkwo to the rescue for Salford. Brought on in the 84th minute with his side trailing 2-1 away to Fleetwood, he scored an equaliser in the 8th minute of added time. Salford are 12th.

Edit. Beat me to it @mightymoyes

A clean sheet for Eli Campbell, back from suspension and getting a full game at left wing back. Ross County drew 0-0 at home to Hibs. Another who seems to have nailed down a starting place.
Campbell got a “ 6 “ in the paper , he’ll be fine up there , although Dingwall is not exactly the bright lights it can be a rum place at times !“Kept a clean sheet while defending the Jail End” is a nice one for your CV 😉
