I am back in England for the long European holiday weekend and took in some FA Cup 1st Round action at Stevenage today. They went through on pens against Guisely. Totally dispiriting following the end of the Everton game on my phone though.

Anyway, here's the loan round up. Mason Holgate finally getting some game time on Friday - 90 minutes as WBA drew 1-1 at Luton.

In the FA Cup today, all our loanees progressed to the next round. Harry Tyrer was on the bench again as Blackpool advanced winning 2-0 at Gillingham.

Jenson Metcalfe played the whole game as Chesterfield put out non league Horsham 3-1.

A clean sheet and a 2-0 win for Billy Crellin's Accrington away to Rushall.

Francis Okoronkwo's Salford also through, beating Shrewsbury 2-1. He came on for the last 20 minutes to help them see out the win.

Tyler Onyango started for Stockport at home to Forest Green. He was taken off after 75 minutes with his side leading 1-0. They eventually won 2-1 in extra time.

In Scotland Eli Campbell played the full 90 again as Ross County drew 0-0 at St Mirren. This time he played left of a back three.

Bit of a round up from the last few days.

Reece Welch got some game time in the Belgian 2nd tier on Sunday. He came on after 78 minutes with Deinze already 2-1 up against Beveren. It finished 3-1. Deinze are 5th.

Stockport were without the injured Tyler Onyango on Tuesday at home to Wycombe in League One. They obviously missed the newly converted right back as they lost 5-0 and are now 10th.

A run out for Harry Tyrer tonight for Blackpool at home to the RS U21s in the EFL Trophy. A clean sheet in a 0-0 draw. It went to pens. He saved one but the RS ended up 8-7 winners.

WBA played on Thursday night and secured a clean sheet now that Mason Holgate has established himself in the back 4. 90 minutes and scoreless draw at home to Burnley. Albion are 5th.

Harry Tyrer was back on the bench again in the league for Blackpool today as they lost 3-0 away to Orient. His rival keeper O'Donnell didn't cover himself in glory - 4 out of 10 from the Gazette. Slow off the line for Orient's opener. Hopefully, Tyrer is restored to the side soon. Blackpool are 18th.

Tyler Onyango presumably still injured as Stockport bounced back from the drubbing in their previous match with a 5-0 win at home to Bolton.

Jenson Metcalfe missed Chesterfield's 3-0 home defeat to Accrington for whom Billy Crellin got another clean sheet.

Francis Okoronkwo started for Salford at home to Carlisle and was replaced on 63 minutes (by 32 year old Conor McAleney) with the score 0-0. They lost 1-0.

England U20's Eli Campbell played 90 minutes for Ross County who lost 3-0 to Dundee United.

Reece Welch didn't get off the bench for Deinze at the weekend as they drew 1-1 at Lommel.

90 minutes for Mason Holgate on Sunday, the Baggies winning 2-1 at Hull.

Thanks @EFC_FRANCIS for pointing out that Francis Gomez finally made an appearance for Lyon U19s. He marked his debut with a goal in their 4-3 win over Dijon. They have him down as Francis Gomez Tambadou on the OL website.

Harry Tyrer played tonight for Blackpool in their 3-2 EFL Trophy win at Harrogate. The Gazette reported that he couldn't do much about either goal. Blackpool went through with the RS bottom of the group.

None of our other loanees played in tonight's EFL Trophy games and we went out as Tranmere beat Stockport.

Harry Tyrer was back in goal for Blackpool in their EFL trophy away to Harrogate Tuesday night. Match finished 2-2 and Tyrer saved the first Harrogate penalty enabling Blackpool to win 5-4 on penalties. Quite some Everton connections in the penalty scorers with ex players Matty Foulds and Stephen Duke- McKenna scoring for Harrogate and Rob Apter , brother of our Matty Apter scoring for Blackpool .

Ha. Thanks for the correction. I had just quickly seen the score recorded as a 3-2 win and didn't even realise it had finished 2-2 and gone to pens.

Harry Tyrer back on the bench again unfortunately for Blackpool's 0-0 league draw at home to Northampton. A first clean sheet for his replacement O'Donnell so the chances of Tyrer regaining his place not looking good.

Jenson Metcalfe and Tyler Onyango have suffered long term injuries so are unlikely to feature for a while.

Billy Crellin played for Accrington in their 2-2 draw with Swindon.

Francis Okoronkwo came on after 83 minutes for Salford at Doncaster with the score 1-1 which is how it finished.

Its so hard to get these loans right, the ones that were beginning to look alright both picked up injuries, similar to Mills laast year.

I don't necessarily think we have gained that much by loaning players out to league 1/2, its been the same for a good few years

It does feel like that but then we managed to make £9/10m from Dobbin. Does that happen if he hadn't spent a season with Derby in league one?

It only takes one of these loans to work to justify the entire system.
