Plan moving forward, what would you do?

Why are the likes of lescott being mentioned? He's a decent defender but his time is almost up and he's pretty old too. Why would anyone what us to get older players in? We need to invest in some younger lads to move forward.

The only positive there is from us losing our manager is that he's left us a good foundation to work on. While picking the right coach should certainly be our no1 objective, the work we do in the transfer market is going to be evn more important. We now have the opportunity to improve on this foundation and build something special. This what I would do if I was running the club.

Out: Fellaini, Heitinga, Neville, Anichebe, Hibbert, Naismith
Out of those only Fellaini would be leaving for money making purposes the others would leave because they simply aren't going to take us forward. We could do a lot with the fellaini cash. The possibilities certainly outweigh his value to the team.

IN:
Mbokani: A great all round striker with the potential to shape our next 3 years. He's very good technically, has a lot of energy, and he scores goals. Finishes with either foot and a very capable in the air. Very good player that would do well if given the opportunity. I'm pretty sure he's anxious to prove himself at the top level.

Morrison: a United reject but one they should've never let go. Enough talent to take this team to the next level.with him and Barkley we'd have a nice foundation for a great team.

Fabio; lord knows where we'd be if either of our fullbacks got injured. He might be injury prone but he has a lot quality. Can play on either fullback position. In the summer he'll have one year left on his contract so we could get him on the cheap.

Jedinak; currently plays for crystal palace and since I've said we'd lose fellaini he'd b a great option to replace him with. He's big, strong and is a mmenace to opposition midfield.

Dos santos; he'd be our pienaar on the right hand side. Has obvious quality but has failed to make a big mark on football. If we could get the best out of him wre'd be on to a winner.

Kone: we're gonna need a centre back with distin being old and duffy being so inexpierenced. Was probably Burkina Fassos best player at the african cup of nations. Very good reading of play, good in the tackle, just an all round class centr half.

All these players we could get on the cheap. None of them would cost over 5 million pounds and they all have a huge upside. Exactly what this team needs to move forward.

You wanna buy a lot of crap players. You wanna move backward. Glad you aren't the manager of Everton.

I have to admit I'd quite like to see Neville as manager with Steve McClaren as his assistant. Tuchel and Pereira are great in their own countries but do they even speak English, could they adapt and would they want the Everton job?

If Landon Donovan joins us in the January transfer window we're only really a striker away from where we want to be. I'd be willing to sacrifice Fellaini for the right price if it allowed us to get someone like Benteke and possibly one or two others.

The squad is pretty small before we lose Mucha, Heitinga, Neville, Hitzlsperger and Gueye. There are a few out of contract 'keepers about such as Fabianski, Schwarzer and Turnbull to come in as back up to Howard. Lescott would be near enough like for like with Heitinga and would give us Distin's successor. Maybe it would be worth picking up Emerson Boyce on a free to take over Neville's role as utility man? And if we're going to let Fella go then I'd pay the release clause (£3m-ish) to take Diame from West Ham.

Ideally we'd snap up Keisuke Honda on a bosman from CSKA Moscow, but we're probably not even on his radar.

So out: Mucha (£0), Heitinga (£3m), Neville (£0), Hitzlsperger (£0), Gueye (£1m), Fellaini (£25m)
in: Schwarzer (£0), Lescott (£4m), Boyce (£0), Diame (£3m), Donovan (£0), Benteke (£18m)

That would leave us £4m ahead. We'd have a marginally younger and no less physical side.

Heitinga (29, 5'11")> Lescott (30, 6'2")
Neville (36, 5'11")> Boyce (33, 5'11")
Hitzlsperger (31, 6'0")> Diame (25, 6'1")
Gueye (22, 5'10")> Donovan (31, 5'8")
Fellaini (25, 6'4")> Benteke (22, 6'3")

Average age 28.6> 28.2
Average height 6'0"> 6'0".

__________Howard
Coleman Jagielka Lescott Baines
________Diame Gibson
____Donovan Mirallas Pienaar
__________Benteke

(Schwarzer, Distin, Osman, Jelavic, Anichebe, Barkley, Oviedo)

Hibbert, Boyce, Duffy, Garbutt, Naismith, Junior, Kennedy, Vellios

Oh God, I would not have him even Wigan give us money.

I must say I'm ver dissapointed with some of the posts in this thread. The lack of ambition of our fans is shocking and it really sshouldnt be this way. We have to make great strides going forward, but some of the signings listed in this thread are ones that are going to make sure we stay at the level we are now. Donavan, lescott, negredo, really? Two of these players are past 30 years old other one is not close to being top quality and will probably never be. The world now has a plethora of talented players just ready to be snapped up. Its not like a few years ago where it was difficult to see how the team could be improved substantialy. Look at what dortmund have done with limited funds and you'll see how much of an opportunity there is. Last season Juve got Pogba from united for just a compensation fee, he now looks like a 25 mil pound youngster and he wasn't even there best player in their youth side. Dortmund signed a teamless winger and played him as a fullback and now he's amongst the best in his position in the world. They also signed some random polish striker who's now being chased by all the big hitters out there Its moves like that, that could change the future of the club, not signing players who'll keep us where we're at for the forseable future.

Who would you say is crap on that list and why would you say so?

Morrison? Fabio? Jedinak? Dos santos? Really are you serious? These players are mid to low table Premier League standard players. They have done nothing to prove they are good enough for a top 6 side. You sell Fellaini and with these players coming in we will probably get 14th.

Fabio; lord knows where we'd be if either of our fullbacks got injured. He might be injury prone but he has a lot quality. Can play on either fullback position. In the summer he'll have one year left on his contract so we could get him on the cheap.

This was my favourite suggestion mate, buy injury prone players to cover players that might get injured, faultless logic.

It's up there with buying shorter players to compensate for the lack of height.

Just keep the team we've got and get these three:

Leroy-Fer-008.jpg

The last one being a future replacement for Pienaar.

So basically the theme here is that we sell close on half our first choice players and replace them in the hope that the new lads gel into a team ?

Awesome plan. Continuity out.Shambles in.

Have I been redirected to a QPR forum or what ?

What i'd do is, sell Felli.

Use the 25 million to buy a shed load of coke from an Columbian druglord. Bash it up a bit, then knock it out all over the north west. Hopefully get a return of 70 - 80 million to spunk on new players.

Instead of a footy manager approach, im using the Scarface method instead.

OUT

Fellaini
Neville
Heitinga

IN

£8m Midfielder
£12m Striker
£6m Centre half

That should be the minimum we do this Summer. Every player that goes out we need to replace, and i'd also like us to add two players on top of that. Sick of seeing people on our bench who have often not made a first team appearance/are crap.

I have no doubt we'll barely spend any of the TV money, but it would be nice to see £10m on top of the Fellaini sale, especially as £8m was apparently available for Fer in January. In other words, £35m worth of transfers in. We could attract plenty of managers with that kind of dough.

Won't happen though.
