Pienaar and his contract.....

The world is his oyster, theres loads of Clubs on a par with Everton who could give him Champions League football and nearly match his wages. Italy, Spain, Holland, Portugal, France, any country really, his talent is universal.

Easily our best player at this moment in time and he will only get better . I love him as for me he has everything . The best thing about him is his never say die attitude , the lad will run himself into the ground for the cause . No one can tell me he doesnt feel for this club because its obvious he does .

Strange that he only signed for 3 years at the time - you couldnt fault his effort or commitment. Hard to know it could all just be leaverage in negotiation.

He is worth what someone is willing to pay him weekly - if its 50k - then its 50k.

He still has a year left after this one.

He doesn't feel for this club. Hence why he's seeing his contract out.

We don't really have the money to up his wages that much, which is really why L went. If we up his wages what are the others going to be asking for, it is a nasty vicious circle.

I think his contract runs out next year is that right? If so list him in January before he can get a Bosman and make some dosh on him.

Sickens me when it was Everton who rescued his career and now this is his payback. Don't forget his woman trouble as well.

And people where moaning in the Club Loss thread about wages increasing as a % of turnover...:unsure:

No, because you can replace Saha with a quality player like Yakubu, we have a bit of depth in that area.

Pienaar is our best wide player and one of our few creative midfielders. He's vital to the side.

Well to be fair to the man he hasn't actually come out with any statement saying he's going anywhere yet (or have I missed something), so i think it's a bit too early to call judgement.

If he goes off the back of the WC we get a massive profit that Moyes will demand to spend.

If he stays and he gets parity with the top earners at the club then fair enough. That was what I think he/his agent was quoted as asking for, but could have been paper speculation. Pienaar offers enough to the squad to be worth the wage.

What he did say is that he wanted to stay here and he loves that fella...Jebus...so surely he wouldn't lie.

He's done nothing unusual in rejecting our initial offer, happens all the time and this is an important contract for him at 27/28. He's just a modern pro with a family and agent to feed. Welcome to football 2009, Sky have made it taste funny.
