Jesus, give him time, please! I can't believe anyone has a bad word to say about Jags. Remember the goal against Villa when he didn't see that little Young little ferret? See how he bounced back from that? I'm looking forward to watching us beat Villa from my vantage point in a Tenerife bar. What's the betting Jags will be MoM? :pint:

Incidentally, unless my appeal against dismissal succeeds, I'll be looking for a new avatar and username before I go to Tenerife!

Lol, that's what I love about Everton supporters.
When he has a good game, everyone wants to have his babies, but when he's crap. it's'jeez, give him time'. Jags mistakes caused us to concede goals yesterday, and we were lucky not to conceded more from his errors. If he needs time, then why is he on the pitch? This is the Premiership, and not a Sunday football league. We can't afford to play guys in our defence just because they're fans favourites if they're not ready, which is why Yakubu should have had a longer run out in the reserves before returning.
We have other options that are ready now, and not simply using the first team to rehabillitate themselves, with their eyes on the World cup being a reason for rushing themselves back.
All I said was that he was poor. I didn't say he should be dropped and I didn't **** the guy off. I'm fair. When they're good I'll say so, and when they're not, I'll say so.

Hope everything works out for you bud. Should you really be going to Teneriffe though if you're at risk of losing your job?

What I meant was he was pitched in before he'd even played a reserve match and has yet to sort out his partnership with Distin

As for Tenerife, it was booked and paid for long before I was given my notice and, to be honest, even if I win my appeal, I'll only be going back for long enough to get the new incentive bonuses and then take voluntary redundancy because my knees won't take the 8 miles a day walk much longer. I'll have the result of an MRI scan prior to the appeal interview (Friday) so I'll slap that on the table too! (y)

I'm a bit surprised that noone has mentioned how good Jagielka was last night. He definitely rediscovered his A game. Keeping Tevez quiet is no easy task. If I had to single out one player, I would say that Jags won it for us with the way that he lead by example at the back.

It was a fantastic team performance last night. Everyone seems to be hitting form at just the right time.

The way we're playing, anything seems possible at the moment. It would be awesome for Johnny Heitinga to break his duck with a piledriver or a cute finish at the end of a flowing team move.:D

I've mentioned how good he was, its like he's never been away! If we can keep all our boys injury free and fit, next season's looking good!

Bumping this thread because I was just thinking about the game yesterday and thought he was our best player, had a borderline amazing block and was unlucky not to score as well as having a good all round game.

He was ace but only because he had to be.

Should've scored his header too.

I love Jags, I really do. But what he is, is a very very very good clogger !

Belting defender, puts his face is, and has great anticipation.

But he is still 'Jags the Hoof'

One of my favourite everton players and will go down as one of my favourite players all time, he is quality, a lion, a great defender, Was gobmacked last season when fans were calling him to be sold.

He's getting back to his best but has been well below his best since his injury. Some of that would be a new partner, some down to the DM and some down to himself but its great to see him fianally back as on form he is one hell of a defender.
He's never oging to play his way out of trouble but he will get us out of trouble and being as he is a defender.. that will do me.
Still needs to work on his 5 yard passes though.
