....I’m ambivalent on matters of the Royal family, I don’t have any strong feelings either for them or against them.

I just think some of the reporting on this death are worthy of a despotic state. The general line is of great loyalty to the Queen, yet Philip’s affair with her sister is a matter of record. Lots of other innuendo on both parts, but news channels shouldn’t ignore reality.

I see your point here.

I am a republican, so this man's death means nothing to me.

His family, and a significant proportion of the country will obviously mourn his passing.

I don't hate any of the Royals personally.

Just see them as an anachronistic institution in our modern world.
My view exactly!

Bloody hell when did that happen?

Got to wonder how much longer the queen will hang on for now

Been a rough year or so and it has to have taken something out of her

I’m not a royalist or anything like that, but I generally don’t mind them. At least they bring in the tourism moolah

Never really cared for Phil that much, but rip anyways

I am reasonably sure the editors and producers of the papers and telly have opened their Obituary Files, and updated the ones filed under "Q"

So Caroline Quentin it will be.

....lots of rumoured womanising (including links to the Profumo Affair) but i think the reported affair with Princess Alexandra (Queens cousin) was late 1950s. The innuendo is that the Queen sought solace with her racing manager, Lord Porchester resulting in Prince Andrew.

It’s a different world & one where having many partners is probably accepted (Charles another example). I have no issue with this, but it’s a bit hypocritical to talk about a lifetime of loyalty now that he has died.

FFS, still on all 4 terrestrial channels with this muck.

They better not cancel Corrie, the arse licking gets.

C4 are normal later, apparently.

But 5 Live and BBC 1 and 2 are into their 7th hour of reporting (lol) about the death of a 99 year old who spent a month in hospital. Its ridiculous.

edit. 8th hour.

edit #2. ITV as well.
