Phil Neville.....

.....I've said before that Moyes will consider Neville one of his best ever buys. For me, I'd have him as first choice RB although I accept that Coleman provides the greater attacking option. The main attribute of a defenders is to defend and Neville's overall influence means that I'm always happy to see his name on the team sheet. Saying that, I'll be more than happy when somebody comes through to overtake him in the pecking order and right now I expect that will be Stone.
Top player, top pro who you only realise how valuable he is when he's not playing (e.g. Aston Villa at home).

I think if we were to win the F.A. cup this season, he'd be off. He's always said he'll deem his time here as a failure if he doesn't win anything.

He's been superb for the club. Has a very professional attitude, has the versatility to have covered a wide range of positions for the club, and for the fee we paid for him has been a bargain.

Of course he's not the greatest player to put on the shirt, and it is frustrating that he's playing as often as he has done this season, but that's hardly his decision.

As a player you sense he's rung every last inch of talent out of himself, which is not something you could say about many of the wunderkids that have been hailed as the next big thing in his time at the club. It's certainly a trait that Barkley would do well to mimic.

Spot on this

Carrick is better and not injury prone.

We need to bring through another influential figure in the team, whoever that may be. It will take time for this new character to find his feet marshalling the team. However, as long as Neville is in the team, this new character will not have the chance to develop into this role. The paradox lies in that we need Neville's influence and without it we are prone to silly defensive errors.

Bang on the money with this, we really need to find a more gifted player with his attitude, the stats don't lie, we have many good players but no real leaders when he's off the pitch.

Cant believe anybody prefers him to Coleman, has been accepted in the side by most fans because his only competition at RB was Hibbert, hes gash. If the side needs his presence as some sort of comfort blanket, then this says more about the weak willed nature that Moyes has instilled into the team than that glorified traffic director.
