I do think his tweets are a bit of an issue, as they would be for any high profile role, especially as the previous coach was sacked for comments/attitude rather than performance.This is the crux of the matter. The daft fake outrage about ancient tweets is actually taking away from the fact his credentials for being awarded the job are non existent. It's like he volunteered himself and no one at the FA had the guts to turn him down.
But they would have been relatively easy to ride out if he'd had a history of being involved in the women's game and knowledge of it and its management. But then if he had those he'd have been far less likely to make the comments in the first place!
