Phil Neville - your thoughts now?

Can't stand him. I shudder to think how he was considered for the Manager's job. Aside from his glaring limitations as a player, his negative pronouncements (top 10 etc), 2 things stand out for me. Firstly, he was a bad snide when Moyes was sacked by United. Should have walked with him out of loyalty. Secondly, his hair. What kind of fella in his mid 30s in 2014 still gets Paul Calf style streaks? Tells me everything I need to know about the man.

He was on the radio on deadline day this year telling the story of how he nearly signed for Spurs in 2011. He said himself he was absolutely desperate to go because he was thinking it could be his last chance to play in the Champions League again. Brilliant. Can see why him and Moyes got on.

For me very much this.

If I see him I'm going to bring this and his comments about driving Fellaini to Old Trafford and Baines up.

His attitude to Everton has not been what he portrayed it as.

It's been really quite disgraceful

Don't agree.... Limited player with a fantastic attitude who reached the pinnacle of the game through pure hard work and total dedication.... A positive ethos he brought to Everton with him which kicked the arse of the existing regime.... Not my fav player ever but will always have my respect as e never gave less than 100%... Even if that 100% wasn't top class

Very well put.

I've always respected him for leaving the UTD bubble where he Could of sat on a bench, earning big money, collecting medals, in order to go and play football and make a name for himself outside man UTD.

He gave his all for us, IMO was a good captain and for a number of years a good player in a couple of different posistions. Yep he went on a little too long which was as much Moyes fault as his own but who wouldn't in there situation.

He never really FULLY got what Everton meant but end of the day why should he? He was a born and bread manc utd fan in a Era when everton had done very little....

Did a decent job when he first came. Didn't seem like captain material given his personality and voice but Moyes thought he worked. Probably like Moyes would have better thoughts aimed toward him if he'd left earlier and kept his mouth shut after he left

Same as they always were a crap player who wouldnt have got to this level in any other top footballing nation, indicative of the root problems in british football that he can win more caps than glenn hoddle based on being a solid pro

Gets on my moobs as a pundit to be honest. Never hated him as he was a good professional and you can't blame crap players for getting picked by the manager.

Personally mate, i think that is overstating it, not that i am mocking him but he hardly revolutionised the club, he came into a team that had just qualified for the CL, he was a good compotant player - but limited and prob a good captain but i think you are way overstating his influence. I dont think he worth the amount we payed him if im honest, he was on a very good wage well into his 30's.
