Don't agree.... Limited player with a fantastic attitude who reached the pinnacle of the game through pure hard work and total dedication.... A positive ethos he brought to Everton with him which kicked the arse of the existing regime.... Not my fav player ever but will always have my respect as e never gave less than 100%... Even if that 100% wasn't top class

My thoughts up until he started spouting nonsense at the end of the Moyes regime then it finally hit home that he didn't 'get' us.

Sometimes I feel embarrassed that he was our captain but then remember how much of a model pro he was and realise the postive impact he must have had in the dressing room.

The problem I have is that he embodies the stagnation of the years post FA cup final and he certainly won't be viewed as an equal to our captains past and future in the Goodison Park record books that much is certain.

Can't disagree... I grew up with Rats as captain and he is still my fav player ever.... Just think pip brought a professionalism to the club we didn't have at the time... Will never knock him for that.

He was on the radio on deadline day this year telling the story of how he nearly signed for Spurs in 2011. He said himself he was absolutely desperate to go because he was thinking it could be his last chance to play in the Champions League again. Brilliant. Can see why him and Moyes got on.
