Pellegrini has a fantastic record, but he basically went off to retire in China on massive pay, and clearly the same thing has happened here - so I question his motivation to succeed, to put it mildly.

It's a pandering appointment to the West Ham fans to get them to stop throwing coins at the board. A 'big name', regardless of what he's done recently.

Pellegrini has won the premier league with Man City, he didn't take someone like Leicester to the heights.
Workmate who is a massive City fan (home and away) was glad to see the back of him.

Lets be honest, there is nothing illustrious about Silva whatsoever. Im not against him being our manager but the last word id use to describe him is illustrious given the clubs he's managed.

If Pellegrini was still a must have ambitious superstar, then he would not have signed for West Ham. It is that simple really. Easy mega bucks, fairly short term, supporters all in awe at his pedigree and no high pressure expectancy to win the league or even a trophy. Finish higher than normal and maybe a decent cup run and happy days. Exactly what a 64 year old Manager wants at his time of life.

Would rather have Silva any day of the week.

A lot were glad to see him gone, but his first season was exceptional. Prem title and league cup and the team scored 156 goals in all comps.

City got Guardiola in at just the right time, one more season of Pellegrini would’ve near finished them. Left their squad in a terrible state given the resources he had and what he took over, no full backs under 32, one striker plus Wilfried Bony glued to the bench, Joe Hart first choice keeper, Jesus Navas, Mangala and Fernando still draining a wage from the club. De Bruyne and Sterling were the only good signings out of everyone he brought in, he just tried to coast along with Mancini’s team and buy squad filler along the way.

Those who voted Pellegrini...i wonder if they know that he had his chinese side in 8th position when they were aiming for 3rd/4th place lol

He's finished.
