for what it's worth (nothing really) I think he's done alright so far, and he will be a good asset for us

he's a 22 year old costa rican that cost £2m coming from the Danish league so I don't know what people were expecting from him??

when he gets an extended run in the side next season he'll be ace, think he could do with some reserve games too as well as the odd start here and there in home games

he's a terrific lad too

he wasn't bought to be a goal threat either, his natural position is left back not on the wing - although with another 6 months of coaching he could be a winger but obviously he needs time to adjust to the position

Good point about him being a fullback, he seems more of a Coleman type player than a Mirallas type player.

He's done nothing to stand out so far I agree when he's come on he has pace, doesn't hide, looks to be involved in build up, works hard, is versatile, has a decent touch , can cross a ball..................that'll do me for starters. A grand total of almost 3 games he has played for us..........all the above is a good enough starting point for me to at least give the lad a chance.

Il happily give him a chance. But for now he'll remain a squad player for when we are desperate.

with coleman being injured i'd like to see him have a go at right back, he is a natural full back and although left footed the roles aren't too different. Even if it doesnt work it's no worse than neville being there. although it might be too risky for davey

Anyway he played LB in costa rica (and still does for his country) but copenhagen played him at left wing. We've very much bought him with the idea of him filling in in either position it looks like.

He played both for Copenhagen, obviously he was bought as cover for our left side but his natural position is left back

That passing a damning judgement on a players ability (not just individual performances) based on 13 appearances, most of which were less than 30 minutes is a bit stupid.

Fellaini, Distin, Jags all fall into the category of players who didn't start brilliantly. Look at them now, starting eleven every game.

So seeing a player play for more time means you're able to make a better judgement of their future ability. Personally I think you can judge someone's level of skill after not very long at all, there aren't that many situations in football that are unusual to the extent that you don't know how a player will deal with it when it happens. The only one I can think of is set pieces, you get the odd secret dead ball specialist that never gets a chance to take one. Do you think there's a possibility that Oviedo might come up with something in a game that we haven't seen before that makes him look like a better player?

Take your word for that.

All I know is that in europe he played left wing and in his interview when he got here, he said he'd mostly been used further forward recently.

Think they'd had a few injuries at the beginning of the season to their wingers so they decided to stick him there and he did a good job so he remained there. A bit like us with Fellaini going up top
