Declan Rice. Very good player but pundits go on like he’s the best midfielder in the world. I’ve watched him chase shadows and take fat touches for England all the time. He’s not at the technical level of a Modric Pirlo Xavi etc. he’s just another Gerrard type who wants to get on the end of a knock down and smash one in or hit a set piece. That doesn’t win you games at the highest level of international football.

Speaking of, Gerrard was massively overrated as well. Again very good player but people put him in world 11s or all time PL 11s. He’d have one good game then go missing for five weeks as Liverpool dropped points. Didn’t have any positional discipline either. Just selfishly bombed forward at every opportunity to try and be a hero. Carrick and Scholes should have had much more of the England caps he did and England would have won a lot more games.

1. People need to show more respect to Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland

2. Spain played better in that final once Rodri went off and are still awesome now without him

That archetype of player is massively overrated. He’s good. Jorginho was fine. They ride the coattails of their better teammates. Sergio Busquets still hasn’t quit Messi.
