So that's the new narrative is it? The players were winning four out of five at the beginning of the season.

Lol.

Look at the teams we beat back then mate, hardly a tough task.

Since then we've beaten Arsenal and Man City. Not to mention today a side that are fighting to stay in the league now.

We still need quality no doubt about it.Robles has been fantastic but still the area needs improving. I'm not having Funes Mori at all. Another striker is needed badly if anything happens Rom we have Kone as replacement. Midfield has suddenly become a strength with Davies and Morgan added to the mix, McCarthy looks like surplus to requirements now, I'd certainly cash in and use the funds to go after VVD. Think we also need cover for Bainesy.

His can you denigrate those four wins? Did you do so at the time we won those games?

I didn't at all, but knowing what we know now with what form was to follow those games says it all.

Would you have been happy at the time if you knew that we'd win one game until December afterwards?

The point stands regardless, we're looking a very solid side now and the squad are playing right up to the final whistle.

It's what he'll be judged on, not reaching the dizzying heights of 7th!

The squad he inherited are largely on the pitch...just as they were back in the opening 5 games of this season. Truth is this manager has not made adequate use of them.

He inherited them but a lot of them were/are never played in the first team.

Davies/Lookman/Schnedierlin/Williams/Holgate - all five are in my eyes Koemans players. Yes he inherited the two young lads but they had barely played prior to his arrival.

Rom/Kev/Baines/Barry/Ross - all either had fall outs or admitted standards slipped the last two years with previous regime. He HAS got them back on side.

That is 9 out of 11 today who I would argue are totally different players, with different attitudes than the last two years. He is getting more out of them than they have delivered for the past two seasons.

I do think a lot of credit must go to Koeman for this.

He will turn this squad around quickly; he seems to be winning friends in high places within the squad. I actually think the emergence of the young lads puts Koeman ahead of schedule right now.

Solid looking choice of manager so far. He is building a platform and I cant wait to see the squad this time next year. Its more than just players changing at the first team level; the whole attitude and mentality is.

That same logic can be applied to these past few wins. Should we be happy knowing that a similar slump is possibly around the corner?

Back on topic: the squad has ALWAYS been capable of winning games by playing better football, and I think that's what's happening now - Koeman has abandoned a lot of his blind panic hoofing from the back and is now trusting in the footballing ability of these players. He should have done it sooner rather than make some idiot song and dance about % fitness levels not being high enough...a numb nuts approach that almost destroyed morale.

Except that he admitted he was mystified about the hoof ball and the fitness % ties in very easily with playing more fluid football?

been saying on here bring in younger players for months and years and I've been slated for it
