Our Squad....

Should think so given £35m has just been paid on them.

And that sort of extra quality at his disposal will all go into the analysis of exactly what he's doing here this time next season.

My view is he's a bang average manager and that will be borne out when we're at 7th or worse next season.

Only time will prove me right on that though.

Dave, the thread is about the squad and you appear to be diverting it onto RK, come on mate, stay on topic.

It'd be an acceptable first season. Then he'll have to prove himself by getting a position that keeps your job.
I think an improvement on 11th and 11th in the league is a good start, 7th at least establishes us as the best of the rest again. Another Summer transfer window with the opportunity to mould his team and clear out those he doesn't want, and we should/need to be seeing improvement.

As we move on players bought under the manager we had out of his depth and replace them with quality the squad will improve, our last manager bought 22 players and by the summer we are likely to only have 3 of those players remaining thankfully.

In terms of squad building, our current manager is currently taking the squad in a good direction, quality brought in, dross sent out.
The dross got 5th.
Ho hum.

Spot on.
Needs to be top six next season, or at least very close on points to it.

If, next season, the "Top Six" become the "Top Seven" then anywhere in the top seven would be acceptable, but being adrift from the top six next season might see him under pressure from Moshiri.

To a certain extent that depends on what backing he gets from the board and, weirdly, if seventh place this season got us a place in the Europa League then the pressure on the squad would be a mitigating factor if we fell short of top six.

One thing at a time though.

I don't see why a EL campaign would be a mitigating factor. Never was for Moyes or Martinez.

Our 2 key players from that season have moved on, Osman and Pienaar played almost every game, Howard also, those players were bought by a good manager.
On topic: this group of players are good enough for this manager to work with and their efforts recently have proven the fickle on here completely and utterly wrong.
