Newcastle reportedly interested in Salah from Basle for £12m and Luuk De Jong on loan with a view to a £10m deal in the summer.

They both look like good signings and they'd probably fit in at a lot of different clubs, including Everton.

Skysports reporting that it will be a masterstroke by Mourinho to sell Mata to United as he can help them take points off Chelsea's title rivals. Horse sh*t! Mata contributed more assists than anyone other than Hazard last year (13). If he does help Moyes' team to take points off Arsenal and City they will quite likely start to close the gap on Chelsea too and come back into the race for the Champions League.

How much of a masterstroke would it be if United and Everton edge Mourinho's side out of the top four largely because of players that he had let go?

Abramovich doesn't need the money, so why help to strengthen a rival? Dig in and insist that Rooney is included in the deal or sell him abroad. United would still be getting a good deal because of Wayne's contract situation and Mata still has his prime ahead of him.

united would be stupid to pay £32m for mata.

he's a great player, but mourinho clearly doesn't see him as part of their plans, he's currently worth half that surely?

also billy he's not good enough to single handedly bring this dog turd united team back into the title race. i.e. chelsea are right in the mix and he's on their bench.

Chelsea have Hazard, Oscar and Willian so they're not short of attacking midfielders. Whereas United are pretty devoid of creativity. If Mata was making things happen it would free Rooney to play further forward and it would also probably raise the level of performance of their other midfielders.

Er mata was the best player in the league last season, he could do for united what özils done for arsenal.
