Other Teams Transfer Thread

It breathes of desparation from Moyes. It is just like the Fellaini deal, sign him without actually knowing where he is going to play to begin with. It begs belief that Moyes has still not sat down and decided who to get rid of and who he wants to replace them with.

I think he'd be a great signing for Utd and he is a typcal Moyes type player for his system. Utd under Ferguson played with pace out wide, with proper wingers, Moyes on the other hand prefers his full backs to provide width so he wants central players in wide areas, like Pienaar etc. That way he can also pack the centre of the pitch to make it easier to defend.

I think that's been his issue this season, the full backs aren't good enough to provide the width and the wide players don't come inside as he needs them to. The central midfielders are not mobile enough to cover the open ground required so they are not as solid as perhaps Moyes wants them to be. I also think that's the main reason that Fellaini has flopped a bit there.

He already tried it a little with Kagawa, but it didnt work out. If he replaces Valencia, Young etc. with players like Mata, who are comfortable going wide and playing inside, then he'll likely also opt for more attacking full backs. I think that could be his plan, but then knowing Moyes and his tfr business as we do, he rarely had a proper plan about where to play his transfer targets anyway, so I could be way off.

Mourinho obviously doesn't rate him

Hard to argue with a serial success story like Mourinho.

Hahahaha!

haha! classic that

not saying he's not great and not worth. just with his current prediciment i'm sure they could drive the price down by half. suppose it'll never be that low with both teams in the same division.

hahaha, thats ace! can just imagine Traore getting a scarf from a LFC supporter that says something like "EFC ARE WANK" in greek or something and him parading around the ground getting introduced with it.

It'd be the equivalent of getting a scarf with 'Kopites are Gobshoits' (No Swearing), cause the scarf is a dig at Lazio as opposed to favouring them.

For what it's worth, if Traore did do this, he'd be the biggest hero at Goodison in years

Mourinho is a mentalist if he is selling Mata to United. They aren't direct rivals THIS season, but if Mata helps United get into the top 4 this year, then they almost certainly will be next season. United and the rs held firm in the summer and refused to sell their best players (Rooney and Sewerz) to their league rivals in Chelsea and Arsenal. Not saying Mata is Chelsea's best player, but he will undoubtedly strengthen United as he's an obvious upgrade on Valencia and Young

Exactly this. He can't be that soft to think that Mata isn't a good player, he'll have seen him at Valencia, Chelsea and Spain to know he's a talent. If I was Chelsea I'd be saying to Atletico, heres the sweetener for Diego Costa (If the rumours they want him, are true).
If Mourinho doesn't replace Cech with Courtois next season it'll equally be mad too, because the lad is just amazing and 21.

Courtois is quality definitely, but Cech is an absolute monster. In fact I'd say he's been pretty much the best keeper in the world since early 2012, that Champions League final performance was something else. Courtois would walk into most other teams in the world though

would laugh my tits off if mouriniho strings this out till deadline day then pulls the plug on utd leaving them with no marquee signing and egg on faces everywhere.

If this deals goes through then it will be the worst bit of buisness since Andy Carroll. United would not sell Rooney to Chelsea for any price, then Chelsea can sell a unwanted player to United 6 month later for whatever price they choose?

I disagree. Mourinho seems to want to stamp his authority on a club, such as dropping Casillas at Real and playing the third-choice 'keeper instead. Provided that Mata's confidence hasn't completely bottomed out and that Moyes doesn't try to make him play in too much of a regimented way it's an excellent signing.

Rooney has been saying for years that he wants a world-class creator behind him so that he can play in his preferred position, finishing chances off. Ironically, by bringing the Spanish playmaker in they could persuade Wayne to commit his future to the club and deny Chelsea the chance to sign him in the summer.

A lot of people are saying it's not what United need, but it's EXACTLY what they need. They've had to rely on dead balls this year and they've struggled to break sides down, which hasn't given the opposition confidence to get forward and nick a goal or two themselves. Teams won't commit as many players forward if they have Rooney, Van Persie AND Mata to contend with and so United can concentrate more on making the breakthrough themselves.

They've already got decent strikers and they can get by this season in other positions if they can get organised. Mata could help to give them something to hold on to in games, which will make them fight with more purpose and conviction and he could inspire the players around him to raise their game.

I think Chelsea are mad to sell him to United.

Moyes will look to play 3 'Number 10s'.

As said, this doesnt solve their defensive problems.

If I was Moyes I'd try and swap Kagawa for Hummels. If they can bring in a creative player to replace Shinji (Mata) then they could afford to sacrifice him to bring in a defender.

There are rumours that United have moved for Dante from Bayern too, so the Chelsea winger might not be their only target anyway.

Yes, that's all well and good, but the fact of the matter is, Courtois and Cech for me are similar standard, maybe Cech just edges it, but Cech is 32 this year, they have what? 2-3 years of top goalkeeping max? Courtois is 22 in May, they could have 13 years of World Class Goalkeeper there! But if they do use Cech next year, then Courtois is gone, which would be such a mess up by Moutinho.
