It's a shame he's never developed a 'bing' pass. If he had that ability to fire one hard into feet or angled between defenders he'd add a new dimension to his game, he has the vision and intelligence to use it.

That my friend is a excellent point.

I have scratched my head about Osman every now and then but he always comes up trumps when the chips are down. Also, being an Academy boy I am naturally drawn to support him over mercenaries no matter their pedigree.

Spot on really. Probably the major difference between someone like Osman and Pienaar. Both intelligent, technically gifted footballers, but Pienaar passed with alot more pace and direction. Ossie does have some really good qualities, though.

Osman is on song with space, players to pass to, and has quick feet to dodge challenges with a stunning first touch.

But he is very lightweight. With his back to players more time than not hes dispossessed or doesnt get the foul. He's easily shoved off the ball, effortlessly to a point.

The likes of Pienaar's, Silva's etc...the small technical players, do have an ability to hold off players and challenges even though they are "small and weak".

Sadly, Osman doesnt have that.

Always hear claims that Osman was a boyhood Kopite, but he said this lately:

He said: “I feel like I'm 21. I feel young and good and hopefully I'm going to continue to feel like that and continue to play in the first team.

“I'm delighted to have achieved 10 years. It's something that you want to do – you grow up wanting to play for Everton. Not only have I done that now, I've done it for a decade. I'm thrilled.

Does he say that just as an ex-academy player or a fan as well?

Honestly it does my heart good to read back at all those people on here arguing that osman is a great player in the middle and you can't judge him in his performance on the wings.

Vindicated, lads.

Only took Moyes eight years to do it reguarly, like.

had to read through the thread to make sure i was on the right side of that argument... feels good :). Imo, back then he was a shadow of the player he is now. Back then he used to make those weaving, close-control dribbles into the box once or twice a season (the one for a goal against Sunderland sticks out in my mind), this season he's been doing it once a game. His shooting has improved a lot too

That's me. I feel vindicated! I need to vault myself for proof
