I honestly thought he did really well. He was always looking for the ball out of the back and wanted to get it moving quickly. Worked hard paired with Gana and will be big loss considering what’s available. Looks like James Garner is getting thrown right back in.

i was hoping that Garner would gradually be brought in and replace doucoure in starting eleven, and we’d move to a 3 by mid feb with tim getting minutes

hoping then that Tim could replace Mangala in winnable home games from the off. with Mangala coming in for away fixtures and tougher games

now we’ll need Garner in asap, and hope that Tim can replace doucoure soon, but not holding that out soon

big issue is not having a defensive option to come in when we need it

on the plus side it could force minutes and experience for Armstrong, and he could build his career with us from this

Terrible news. I would have said bye in the summer but he would have helped us massively until the end of the season to get over the line which is a credit to him. He's done as well as you could ask for.

Kick in the stones this. Thankfully we won the last 2 games or we would really be in the mire with Mangala and DCL injuries and no movement on the transfer front.

Don’t think he should have been bought after his loan spell, he’s been ok but nothing other than that imo.

Personally think he's been excellent

Hasn't stood out but for a midfielder whose job it is to keep the ball moving with minimum fuss that's a good sign. Has been great foil for Gueye. Not all players are there for highlights

We'll see what he brought to the team in his absence in a never know what you've got til it's gone type scenario

I used to think Barry was a crab till he joined us. Mangala is the same, great technique and always does the right thing to relieve pressure or recycle possession.

Hopefully when he recovers in a year+ we can get him for cheaper than what Lyon want.

I thought that at the time. And it isn't the first time I've seen it happen with us.

Is it something that happens fairly commonly in football or are we just embarrassingly stupid in that department?
