I worked for 15 years
called into an office and let me go.
Like Nearly everyone in NY I was renting and it was high.
Lost my apartment when my savings went, on the streets now, can't get a job because I need an address, she was quite smartly dressed. Spotless and was sitting on a bench to claim.as a bed for the night, I offerd her a coffee and something to eat, she declined , said thanks but I am OK.
Just wanted to talk to someone .
Enjoy your holiday and don't forget how lucky you.are to live in the UK.
Never forget her and her quite self pride in such difficult circumstances.
Often wonder what become of her.
