Once A Boo, Always A Boo

Myth that he got loads of abuse in the past, quite frankly it didn't happen.

But he deserves huge abuse when he's next back at GP.

Point 1. Yes he's obviously greedy as he's turned down in excess of 100k a week.

Point 2. He's a good player. Could have been great. But won't be due to severe mental fragility.

Point 3. No idea. Money perhaps. But in this case it's cause he's a total bottler who hasn't the determination to fight for his place or the guts to take responsibility as a senior player.

I disagree largely with the article. We wont miss him.
I'm wth you on this one.
What a terrible response Grouch, missing almost every point.

1, Money is clearly NOT why he is leaving.

2, Severe mental fragility???? Honestly?!

3,Total bottler, he has toiled his whole life in competative games and lauded as the next big thing which carried immense pressure, came back from a horrific injury and played for years in the best league in the world despite crappy management and torrents of abuse from his "fans". I am sure you'd do all this without problem.

Good luck Ross, hope you find happiness elsewhere.

...I think it has to be an assumption of yours that he's 'greedy'. He'll probably get a similar amount wherever he ends up which suggests to me that money isn't a key issue. For whatever reason, he wants to go. It happens, we pick players up from other clubs in similar positions.

To be honest, I think it would have more of an impact if he's not given abuse on his return. It doesn't bother me when players leave, it's a part of the modern game. When players want to stay is when we're successful but even then there'll be circumstances when they want to play elsewhere.

When you have RS players backing our players and telling us to get off s players backc something must be wrong Yet still so many of you just refuse to admit what the rest of the country can see, we have treated him terribly.

People love reading other people on the internet. I'm doing it now.

Horrifies me some of the things written which is tantamount to abusing actors on Corrie thinking they really are their characters, as let's face it, very few people are privy to the truth when it comes to goings on at the club, but are happy to make them selves look like scum to the whole wide world just to make themselves erm...feel better in their sad lives.

Good luck Ross wherever you go, just please don't sign for Liverpool, as I don't think that will work out.

Yearh we've told him to play for free and wash his own boots and then banish him to the reserves. Treated badly aye lol

Explain to me how he is not mentally weak.

Explain to me when he got "torrents of abuse".

He gets the normal shrugs and groans that everyone else gets when he plays a poor pass, miscontrols, blasts one into the upper Gwlayds. It's no different to anyone else.

He couldn't hack the pressure of playing for everton. I don't want to be at a Goodison where dross is applauded and a season of 4 home wins is tolerated. He hasn't the strength of character to succeed. He blames everyone else under the sun, every manager he's ever played for, when reality is that he's got a complete aversion to responsibility and runs away from the crunch.

We've had enough mentally weak losers in recent years. Getting rid of another will not harm us one bit.

Mate, you have no idea at all. Basing your hatred on assumption.

Many posters have agreed about the abuse he gets. It is a fact that he does. The weight of expectancy on his shoulders from the fans, to then turn to abuse, he has had it for years. As I said yesterday, can have an amazing game, totally run the show, one bad touch, the groaners are off and his shoulders drop. If your mates constantly did that to you, you would react similarly, it's not about money or mental strength, it's just about letting him be. Anyway, I am sure it is people like you who will see him at his best when he leaves, escaping the "fans" he loved.

Best of luck to him I say

..I'm on record as saying I think we'll be a better team given the recruitment of the right replacement. I don't know the reason why he 'wants a new challenge' but I doubt that money and greed is a key factor. Just my opinion.

None of us know - so we all speculate to accumulate

This mass abuse thing is absolute myth. Anyone suggesting the fans drove him out need to get a serious grip.
It is not the level just the fact it was always there from the fans he loved and thought loved him (not biblically of course).

Too much expectancy too soon imo.

That feeling of relief when you hand your notice in at a job you do not enjoy due to colleagues or whatever, thats Ross now.

I don't doubt for one minute that money is his agents main motivation. For Ross personally, I think it's simply that he no longer has the strength of character to play here in a team with rising expectation.
