Mad to think how good all these kids are going to be in 3 years in Paris
Absolutely. It's so amazing to see. The way they all just seem to completely have each others backs too. When the Japanese girl (who seemed to actually be the best) fell at the end to miss a medal it was so cool to see all the others run straight over to her and hoist her up
I wonder if young girls are allowed to cry at the Olympics.Bit disappointed she cried after only coming 3rd though
There's an article on the BBC News all about her and it's quite and interesting read when you hear about the story of her life and recent setbacks. It's so amazing to see. It'd be interesting to see her rationale for competing for Team GB as on the face of it you'd normally suspect that she'd have gone for Japan.*Brown is one of the beneficiaries of the Tokyo Games being postponed by a year because her place would have been in doubt had they gone ahead in 2020.
In May last year, Brown fell from a ramp in training, fracturing her skull, breaking her left arm and wrist and suffering lacerations to her heart and lungs.
Yeah that is absolutely crazy. There's a clip of the accident (which thankfully cuts out before the impact as the person filming throws the camera down) but you can see the height she falls from. She's so lucky to have been able to recover that quickly and also to not have had serious long term damage. There's an article on the BBC News all about her and it's quite and interesting read.
This was of particularly interest and makes her medal even more special.
Shame that, picked up in the previous fight against that french fella….. looked then like it might jeopardise his Olympics….Nasty gash to the eye meaning the fight will have to be stopped.
Looked like he was probably going to lose anyway but shame for it to end like that.Nasty gash to the eye meaning the fight will have to be stopped.
Read about this the other day and apparently she thought GB's skating team has a more relaxed outlook to the sport and gave her more freedom. There's an article on the BBC News all about her and it's quite and interesting read when you hear about the story of her life and recent setbacks.
Her dad in English and Mum is Japanese; she was born there and her native language is Japanese, but she splits her time between Japan and the US.

*I'm glad she didn't and hopefully we've helped support her.
Just watching his post fight interview and the cuts above his eyes do look grim. Did I hear right that it was due to head contact in the previous fight and not from punches?Shame that, picked up in the previous fight against that french fella….. looked then like it might jeopardise his Olympics….
Yeah his opponent was disqualified due to use of the head , couple of head clashes caused them .Just watching his post fight interview and the cuts above his eyes do look grim. Did I hear right that it was due to head contact in the previous fight and not from punches?
