It's so amazing to see. The way they all just seem to completely have each others backs too. When the Japanese girl (who seemed to actually be the best) fell at the end to miss a medal it was so cool to see all the others run straight over to her and hoist her up
Absolutely.

That last girl was really going for it and possibly had it until the last half second.

Miserable arl arses can argue it's not a sport but every single one of them epitomised the Olympic Spirit.

There's an article on the BBC News all about her and it's quite and interesting read when you hear about the story of her life and recent setbacks.

Her dad in English and Mum is Japanese; she was born there and her native language is Japanese, but she splits her time between Japan and the US.

This was of particularly interest and makes her medal even more special.

Brown is one of the beneficiaries of the Tokyo Games being postponed by a year because her place would have been in doubt had they gone ahead in 2020.

In May last year, Brown fell from a ramp in training, fracturing her skull, breaking her left arm and wrist and suffering lacerations to her heart and lungs.
It'd be interesting to see her rationale for competing for Team GB as on the face of it you'd normally suspect that she'd have gone for Japan.*

*I'm glad she didn't and hopefully we've helped support her.

Yeah that is absolutely crazy. There's a clip of the accident (which thankfully cuts out before the impact as the person filming throws the camera down) but you can see the height she falls from. She's so lucky to have been able to recover that quickly and also to not have had serious long term damage.

Read about this the other day and apparently she thought GB's skating team has a more relaxed outlook to the sport and gave her more freedom.

Feels like she's probably made the right decision given she is half British and half Japanese so in this specific Olympics she's got the best of both worlds. She gets to be Britain's youngest ever medal winner and to do it in Japan.
