He played in to the hands of Lopez by not upping the pace. A well deserved win by the Cuban, but I felt Whittacker had more of a chance than he showed.

Gold for the British women in the sailing. Can't get my head round these races at all. Completely bonkers in almost every way

His output was his downfall. His defense is fantastic but its hard to win rounds just throwing a few jabs and the occasional body shot.
He could have a good pro career. A silver in the Olympics is a great platform.
Will be interesting to see if Torrez wins gold at super heavyweight. He will have the chance to become a massive star if he wins gold, Ridock Bowe was the last USA finalist at super heavy in 1988 so hes already matched that.

Relatively good shotput by her standards. She really needs a great long jump and a half decent javelin. She'll smash the 200m and 800m she always does.
Think she's just really struggling after her injury and has an amazing competitor she's up against. Medal will be a really good result for her given how recent her injury was

I think she would comfortably win gold if she was fully fit. Any medal is a great result considering she nearly missed the Olympics. She'll be right up there in Paris in 3 years time.
Not sure her choice of shot put helped.
