BMX is ridiculous as an olympic sport. It looks daft.

So is skateboarding, but at least there the kids are pissing themselves laughing and look like they know how absurd it is for their activity (I wont call it a sport) to be co-opted by mega sports corporations and the establishment's biggest sport event. Good on them for taking the piss and their money off them.
Your right Dave, we should get rid of this working-class nonsense and rage that Eton/Oxbridge favoured rowing isn't up to standard ?

I watched a bit of it on highlights last night and I enjoyed it.

Couldn't get into the skateboarding at all though

No, as I said: good luck to them getting the Lottery cash. They are laughing all the way to the bank and having a laugh about it. I dont begrudge them. The rowers are a different kettle of fish though.

They've been utterly pampered through life in private schools then red brick universities or Oxbridge before choosing to go professional with whatevever meagre talent thay have, and then the country hands them a kings ransom from the lottery...and they end up a humiliation, crashing boats and picking up a couple of runner up medals.

£125M poued into 'Team GB' rowing. Way more than for any other sport.

Once again, as I said, you only post to be negative. It's boring. You are boring, Don't like the rowing because they are all pampered, don't like the BMX because it's not a sport. Can't wait for you complaining about the 100m because they have legs and javelin because they have arms

Think the street skateboarding is one of those sports where the incredible skill required just doesn't translate into a spectacle. Hardly alone there in the Olympics, but with it being new they might bin it off as a failed experiment.
