Those Dormers in the photo I posted would have seen the D-Day landings practiced on the beach across the road. Amazing thought

….exactly, I posted a picture of Liverpool City Centre after the blitz and only a few building survived but what did was a small balcony on one which is still there today.

Another of a home for destitute children that still sits there today. The things those places have seen.

When I was a kid odd times we'd go through town on the way home and I'd be fascinated by all the different coloured 'neon' lights...especially the rarer blue ones for some reason.

I remember the buildings of both cinemas in the Old Swan, the Curzon and the Regent. The Curzon closed in 1960, the Regent in 1967.

I used to walk to Old Swan from Roby - in the early 1970s - what a lovely art deco cinema photoed - only ever went through Old Swan on the bus to the match so I cant remember it - Old Swan back then had a nice feel to it .....
