Leeds United 0-1 Everton. 17 year old Wayne Rooney scored only his 2nd Premier League goal for the club at Elland Road, in what was Everton’s first league win away at Leeds for 51 years.

2001: Bolton Wanderers 2-2 Everton. Walter Smith’s Blues picked up a point away at Bolton. Paul Gascoigne scored his only goal for Everton, along with a goal for Alan Stubbs.

1990 - Everton 3-0 QPR. Caretaker manager Jimmy Gabriel took charge of the managerless Blues & steered them to a 3-0 win at Goodison, with Mike Newell, Pat Nevin & Neil McDonald all on the scoresheet.

1984 - Everton 3-0 Leicester City. After an amazing October, the Blues went top of the league for the first time since Feb 1979, with victory over Leicester. Adrian Heath, Kevin Sheedy & Trevor Steven were the scorers. EFC started to dream about what they could achieve!

1974 - Everton 2-0 Man City. Billy Bingham’s Blues moved up to 3rd place in the league table, thanks to goals from John Connolly & Gary Jones sealing a win for EFC.

1998 - EFC manager Walter Smith rejected a bid from Port Vale for youngster Gavin McCann, whilst EFC striker Mickaël Madar had rejected a loan move to Wolves.

1935 - Everton 5-1 Stoke City. Jimmy Cunliffe scored 4 for EFC & Dixie Dean scored 1, as the Blue ran riot in this Goodison Park league win.

1929 - Everton 5-2 Newcastle United. George Martin scored twice, whilst Dixie Dean, Tommy White & Ted Critchley were all on the scoresheet as EFC thrashed the Geordies in this home league win.

Nov 2, 1995 - Feyenoord 1-0 Everton. A disappointing result saw EFC exit the ECWC at the 2nd round 2nd leg stage, after a 0-1 defeat (0-1 on aggregate after a goalless draw in the Goodison 1st leg) in Rotterdam. Future Sheff Wed & Celtic winger Regi Blinker scored the only goal.

Luton Town 0-1 Everton. A win for the Blues thanks to a Robert Warzycha goal but the match is famous for a bizarre reason. Due to the referee declaring a kit clash, Everton were forced to play in Luton’s garish orange away shirts.

1968. Everton 2-0 Sunderland. The Blues went top of the league for the first time that season, with a 2-0 win over Sunderland. Goals from Alan Ball & Johnny Morrissey sealed the win, in front of more than 40000 fans at Goodison.

1889 - Everton 8-0 Stoke City. The Blues went top of the league with an 8-0 thrashing of Stoke City. A crowd of 7500 fans at Anfield saw Fred Geary score a hat trick, whilst Alex Latta & Alex Brady scored 2 each & Alf Milward scored one.

2001 - Turkish side Besiktas were reported to be interested in signing EFC goalkeeper Thomas Myhre, but doubts were being expressed in the media over the Turkish’s side willingness to pay the reported £500000 asking price.
