Interview with Rooney about Everton on talksport - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2rniPMXOAQ&feature=player_detailpage#t=420s

he says everton will always be in his heart, I can't believe some Everton fans give him sh**.
I know it was harsh the way he left but bloody hell, he was young and going to one of the biggest clubs in the world for extra cash.

Exactly, don't fool yourselves lads. He left thinking of his career and there's no one that can say he didn't make the right choice in that perspective. The amount he earns is incredible too.

But.... just IMAGINE the impact IF he DID come back home...

...oh my..... I think I need to go and change my boxers now....

You would be silly not to go!
At Everton, he would be on what? 80k a week?
Now he is on 220k isn't it with a Champions League medal.

Football does not work like this anymore, where the player chooses a club on who they love, they choose a club on who paid the most.

Not necessarily, look at Mirallas for example. He chose us over Arsenal because he'd get first team football rather than the opportunity to be playing in the champions league and probably earn more money at Arsenal.

Rooney feels he isn't the top dog anymore at Man Utd because of RVP, he wants to feel loved and special and be the first name on everyone's lips as they walk into the ground. Plus he loves Everton.

For these reasons... It's on.

To be honest the wages between us and arsenal wouldn't have been on the same level as Rooney will can earn double. Cant see arsenal offering more wages then we did for Mirallas.

Yeh you're probably right there but I still feel the rest applies. He wants to feel like the main man again, and I don't think he would be at Man City with Aguero around, Mourinho probably wouldn't go for him if/when he's at Chelsea, he doesn't suit Wenger.

If he's staying in the Premier League, he's coming home.

Plus I would say Rooney is one of the few that playing football week in week out, being the hero, means more to him than the amounts of money involved. And maybe more so where Everton are concerned.

Lets not kid ourselves that he wouldn't still be earning massive monies here, plus all the commercials ect...

Still think its too early for him to come back realistically. On the same note I don't see him as the type who would want to come back after he's declined and no longer capable of being the hero.

Think moyes might get him to stay 1 more year, which may just be to our benifit 12 months down the line.

Funny listening to him interview's, he still refer's to eferton as US like we do as fans. Wonder if taking a massive paycut to come home would cut him slack with the major haters?

Funny, 8 odd years ago, could not stand him. Now, the prospect of him coming home, apologising, being the main man, who everyone talks about, the shirt letters R,O,N,E and Y being the first to sell out etc, I feckin want to love him again! ITS ON

Why did you hate him though?
Because he went to a bigger club, for more money, to win trophies?

As I said earlier, it was bad the way he left (Was it last day of the window, I can't remember) but he done the right thing!

Haha, you're both wrong, it was actually because I was only around 8 years old and I didn't understand. Alls i saw was my dad fuming, and all my mates getting 'ROONEY' on the back of their newest united strip, while i got another Kilbane or Hibbert. Now, i understand, I don't blame him really.
