Not A Transfer Rumour..... Wayne Rooney

But I thought we were due to get a percentage of rooneys sell on fee, so if he were to come straight back to us, would that mean that his value is automatically decreased, or would it just be totally irrelevant?

Its a big NO from me. He's like a spoiled little kid - sulking on the team bus when they'd won the title. Even if he wanted to come, it wouldn't be long before he spat his dummy out again. Plus, I still haven't forgiven him for the way it happened. Blaming Moyes for running to the papers over his granny-shagging and listening far too much to Stretford (who Rooney still seems to think is only interested in him and not lining his own pockets.) His antics at United say we shouldn't touch him even if he wanted to come

Personally, i think anyone who says they wouldn't want him back would change their minds as soon as he jumps into the gwladys street after scoring his first goal following his return.

You lot are crazy for thinking we could afford Rooney. Even if we could the money would be better sent on a player who is more likley to have a sell on value.

Don't get me wrong I would love us to sign him but there is no value for money with Rooney.

I don't think he is either. I was just making a point regarding the people who say they wouldn't want him back.

Isn't there some kinda ruling that players over a certain age with 2 years left on there contract can buy themselves out?all we need is Wayne spending £24 mill to escape moyes then accepting £65 grand a week from billy bullsh*t...seems possible!

I'd say a world class player for around 25M who has about 4/5 yrs left as a top striker and maybe another couple as a CM represents excellent value. Not to mention the massive commercial benifits.

Whilst monetary factors are undoubtedly a major stumbling block to this deal ever getting off the ground, it is also fair to say that the actual footballing side of the equation is pivotal in the more acute sense of can Everton continue to improve as they have ? The answer is simply that no one can say for sure. We may bomb (though I doubt it myself) or we may go from strength to strength, who knows ? The latter question is the one I think would be foremost in my mind if I were him not necessarily money because that has subsequent ramifications for the rest of his career. Obviously the absence of champions league football too.

It's simply not on the cards for me whatsoever

There would be crazy offers like that from the likes of PSG, Anzhi and some teams in Asia, maybe even Real Madrid.

I don't think he'd go to Russia, Asia or France. From what I've heard/read he is intent on staying in the PL. Real Madrid would probably turn his head though, but he'd get closer to half of his current wage there I think.

I wasn't trying to say he would be interested in going to those clubs just that those clubs you'd expect to table big offers although I could see him considering PSG and Real Madrid.

Quite interesting that he says utd was the only team he would of left Everton for, and that being so young thought it was a once in lifetime offer that may never come again. Clearly still a massive toffee.

I don't know if its coz it seems so ridiculous that it could happen I'm starting to believe
Or
I genuinely think it could happen. Yet...
