Non League Football

Weve got

Gregson, Butler, Marsden, Hunter all on long term injuries.

Then youve got McDonald, Newell who are clearly well below match fit, the problem is, with games 3 times a week, its hard to even recharge.

Been a bruising 2026. Those players have been immense for weeks now. A disappointing day yesterday but quite the transformation, from 300 averages to that away following.

Was talking with my son about attendances yesterday. Now I'm no matmetician/scientist but you'd surely suspect that such a bump in attendances will lead to further increases going forward??? People having kids, people getting their mates involved etc.

I do everything I can to spread the word. We had a few non-regulars with us on the train last week whi loved it.

I always think how your team is doing depends on what crowds you get. Liverpool having a "wobble" this year, you get a few.

Evertons ticket prices going up, has seen lots and lots of blues turning up.

Its all about cost value.

For an Adult to go to the Derby, its £75, add a pint and a pie and its £93.

To do the same yesterday would set you back £23, so nearly 25% of the cost.

Im aware the Derby is more of an appeal, but my point is more value for money.

Was great to see a group of about 30-40 young lads getting songs going yesterday. You wouldn't have had that 10 years ago.

Yeah, I think it's always gonna be difficult to convince people to give up their emotional attachment to us or them lot, but as you say, it's definitely more appealing costwise.

Personally, I've missed Everton games to watch Marine at times, but that's because my son (he's actually my stepson, but I prefer not to use that term) is a kopite, and Marine is our thing. Funnily enough, he says he supports Marine first, and then Liverpool. I've been fortunate this season that we've not had many 3 o clock Saturday fixtures. I'd not be going to watch Peterborough Sports away though if it clashes with an Everton fixture.

We're all different John.
Football is a massive part of my life, been obsessed since 4.

In a way, Marine has ruined Everton for me in some ways. Its a community, it's a friendship and you feel valued. The manager knows us, the commitee ask me my opinion, the players have a drink with us, its nice.
Not that the PL in 97/98 was like that, but it was exciting for me.

Maybe its fickle? I am not totally sure, but the struggles are fine, but how we've been treated really ledt me feeling total disconnect from the PL. Enjoyed doing aways with my Dad this year, because we've not done ir for such a long time, and nice to have that connection, but my mates are Marine now. So in a way, spending my time with mates and Marine can be more enjoyable than Everton on my own.

Everton will always be #1, you cant just separate from something ingrained into you for 35 years. My missus knows this, but my love for Marine is more than a hobby.

Yeah, absolutely. I'm a season ticket holder at Marine for 3 seasons now. It's absolutely something I'm fully on board with now. I always make a point of telling people if football becomes the topic of conversation.

Me and my son are a bit obsessed with getting to different grounds, so if a trip to, let's say Hartlepool, came up, then we're defo going, regardless of if Everton are playing. Not so much for an away game against Sports.

We don't really get involved in any off-field stuff. We go the game, and then go home.

What's with the Real Bedford ?

What isnt with them 🤢

They've got blockchain on their badge, which makes me feel truly nauseous.

Another club with wild ambitions and an owner who will probably get bored at some point and walk away, ala Shaw Lane, Hashtag Utd.

They've tried to merge with local club Bedford Town numerous times, who currently compete in the league above. Nothing positive can come from Real Bedford (and yes, that is a Bitcoin Branded "B" on their crest.
