On a serious note, this is a sad day for music really.
Oasis got the guitar bands back to the front of the queue and spawned countless acts in their wake.
Probably the best thing to come out of Manchester in a long time, and that's not a dig at the Mancs either; they were simply great.
Without Liam fronting the band over Noels songs, it just wouldn't hit home as much.
It really has to be both or none. Top band !

I'm going to throw this one right out there, and although I enjoyed the Beatles copying Definetly Maybe...

They gave rock a dirty name. They bit the teet of mother Rock and milked it of decency. They should still be out nicking cars and robbing houses but some fairy kissed them on the knob and they made money out of being complete ******s. I'm glad they split up. No I wished they stayed together and were miserable.

I hope theyre the first to cop it in 2012, I really do.

For me I liked the first album, but then when I realised that they had blatantly robbed lyrics, guitar licks, styles, names, I just thought your the worlds biggest fraud, and Beatles tribute act.

They used to be Indie, born out of Madchester - an innovative style of music such as Stone Roses, Inspiral Carpets, Charlatans, and you became cock rock for every sheep following carpet carrying thug.

You need to have a vicious dog, shaved hair, and the latest Oasis cd.

Correct me if I am wrong but Oasis being a successful band during the most stagnant period of music innovation speaks volumes.

Masterplan was cool like.

Sorry Macca mate, but that's complete rubbish imo.

Fair enough if you don't like their music, but they meant a lot to millions and millions of fans. Noel is by far the best songwriter of his generation. Anyone who says Blur were better need look no further than their woeful Glastonbury performance this year. Utter crap. I had nothing against them, and I like some of their stuff, but Oasis are/were better in every way.

Long live Oasis.

They don't do it as blatant as Noel Gallacher does though. I actually think there are two types of Oasis fans, those who like the music, and those who like the thug attitude - sorry if I put you in the wrong category there mate, but they have that reputation because of Liam's attitude on life - he's a ****, plain and simple.
