2017/18 Nikola Vlasic

I think it's great that when it gets rough for him, his sister and father comment to the media. It shows he has a strong support network.

..we lack a player who runs with the ball from central midfield, we lack a central midfielder who gets us up the pitch. Vlasic looks that type.

It’s lots to do with balance and blend, I think he’d be on the same wavelength as Rooney because they both appear to have a football brain but Rooney needs runners around him and Vlasic is a weak link when the opposition have the ball. If Rooney and Vlasic start I think it will give us a lot more attacking threat but leave us weaker from a defensive perspective. I suspect this is why he’s not been getting games.

For me it is why Wilshere being a target would be fine as well, another player who can get on the ball without crapping his pants and actually go forward with it.

Wouldn't shock to see him getting a start in the city or rs game, in many ways for the manager to 'prove' himself right by not playing him...

..you might recall me posting that Vlasic reminded me lots of Wilshire. I turned around to my son at the game he started against Arsenal and made the comparison because his low centre of gravity and running style was so similar it was uncanny. Before we splash out on Wilshire, it could be worth giving Vlasic a run.

Ideally thats what the rest of the season should be about mate, BUT we have a short term manager in so why will he care about longer term development goals, he will just look to get as many points as he can by however means and thats the reality.

and yup remember the comparison you made, for me, get Wilshere in on a free, and get Vlasic some minutes this season, Wilshere and him would give two for the position, and with Wilshere not exactly being made from the toughest stuff would give Vlasic chances next season - and having an older more rounded version to learn from wouldn't be the worst idea either...

Or (here's a novel idea) play him?

Shown that he has the talent and desire to succeed which is far more than most.

He and Lookman should have been getting games to bring them up to speed for next season...Holgate too.

Instead one is in Germany and the other 2 aren't being played.

Truly bizarre.
You wanted him here Zat.

This is the fallout that comes with him. One of them anyway.

No reason not to give him a run in the side with Sigurdsson out and our Premier league status secure.

I hope he realizes he has an opportunity here and runs around in circles lots at Finch Farm to impress the number crunching statto beauts that Allardyce relies on to pick his team.

Great post. Full of logic. @bluestevon for next manager!

Vlasic = good

Wilshere = football brain dead fragile overhyped lump. No thanks.

Remember reading similar posts about Walcott. He is in a different league to most of our players. On a free, Wilshire is surely worth a punt? Further to this, Arsenals rejects seem better than Man utd rejects.

With the exception of one solitary England performance, EVERY time I've seen Wilshere he has been squalid. He simply rubs into a crowd until he's either dispossessed, falls in his arse looking to the ref, or gets injured.

Had enough of sicknotes, would like some robustness. It's bad enough paying footballers a doctor's yearly salary each week, it's worse when they're missing due to yet another injury.

Either way, he needs game time. This way he won't even go to Russia and he was a sure go too, before coming to Everton that is

mustn't watch arsenal much to be fair mate because he's a very very good player when he's fit and been arguable their best player when he's come back into the side

he would be head & shoulders better than any or our current CM's
