I disagree. We launched a few balls at him and he killed them dead. His technique seems to be excellent- certainly much better than Straq's. He's probably not that fit at the moment though.

I'll reserve judgement on what he can do down here once defences have done their homework on him, but - as he did at Rangers - he's a forward who really likes to play off the shoulder of the last line of defence and will benefit massively if we have a player who can slot him through from CM.

TBH, I thought he got a lot of help from Cahill especially first half yesterday and it's a different proposition when you're asked to go and do a lone striker role in this league...as he'll find out. He's the type of player who needs a partner IMO, or someone from MF capable of getting very close at all times - as with the Cahill of old.

Of course, he's a forward, so we all know ultimately that good, bad or indifferent, Moyes will destroy him in the end.

It seems there is a little Berbatov in game without the Berbatov sulk. Really all this club needs is a finisher, the defense is stout, the attack is starting to create chances. If he could do that in a hurry (and we get a win tues) we have a outside but decent shot at the cup and catching Newcastle.

Agree, can't deploy him as a lone striker in 4-5-1. Because of his movement, we must have a target man around him. Could be Cahill, Straq, Big Vic or maybe even Fellaini.

That's something I'd like to see us try, Stracq is so busy, Jelly not as much but I guess more skills, could be a powerful combination, so long as the midfield was arranged properly - No Cahill, Neville, Osman, Heits

From my vantage point in the Gwladys he looked slow and refused to track back. Hope Moyes can work that out of him.
