It would have to be a big signing for this as you cannot simply replace lukaku with your average joe . Bring in a young striker like berahino from west from let them bed in and then give them the second striker role while Kone demotes to third Choice . Think we are best if we sell jelavic use the funds to help us buy someone of lukaku standard an promote someone within like vellios or Conor

Or we use the money we get from the sale of Barkley, Baines, Jagielka and Mirallas and buy Lukaku?

Barring a Lukaku injury before the end of January I think we've seen him play his last match for Everton.

And rightly so, his non-performance at West Ham was an embarrassment, he literally didn't do a thing right.

Only the folk who go to Everton two to meet Naismith on a Thursday afternoon live in hope for this dead horse.

I was massively holding out hope for Jelavic to rediscover the form he had when he first joined but it really does look like hes turned into a shell of a man. No first touch, no finish, no pace, doesnt really win headers- all in all looks like hes completely had it.

I hope when he does move on its to a foreign club where he can get a bit of form back.

He has been massively found out in the EPL...needs to go elsewhere

Personally I'd say that weakens the squad.

Agree with this.

Competition within the squad improves form and morale. If we are going to let Heitinga and Jelavic go, which i think we will, we need to sign a CB and a CF, even if the CB is just another Stones-type signing ie one for the future

Can't believe all this negativity.

He's a natural slotter. He's just out of form. I mean, that's only what, 19 months he's been out of form. Just needs one goal.

2 goals in a calendar year is a perfectly respectable return from someone who's coming to terms with the pace and physicality of the Premier League he helps the team out which is more important he's not really a goalscorer, more of a Heskey hold-up type.

I imagine players busting their arse only for the striker to fall over when given the ball doesn't help morale either, especially when it's been going on for 15 months.

agreed. He offers us nothing now and, strangely, i think he will do alright for a club like west ham, where 10 goals a years is more than sufficient. I concede hes not looked like getting anywhere near 10, but my point is that its quite apparent he isnt anywhere near good enough to be the No 9 for a top 7 club, and therefore a bottom half team may take a little pressure off.

As said above by most though, he needs pastures new and we need the 1.5 million we will get to fund a replacement.
