Nikica Jelavic

Lost confidence in him tbh. Currently I'd start Vic over jelavic no question. If jelavic isn't slotting he doesn't offer much else IMO.

Happy to have him in the squad going forward but we definately need another striker for next season to fight it out with jela and Vic. If that happens I see a lot of bench time for jelavic.

Either way I still think he was/is good business for 5M. And if you wanted to cash in you'd still easily get that money back.

Sick of waiting for his form to return, Anichebe looks twice the player at the moment and Jela isn't working hard enough to re find his form.

Really don't think it's anything to do with confidence. Even when he was scoring last year, I always said to myself, "he's not actually good at football." Can't hold up the ball, can't dribble past anyone and is ridiculously slow. He's a one touch goal poacher...that is IT. And he hasn't had many of those one touch opportunities this season. And his inability to stay onside is woeful. We'd be lucky to get 5mill for him in the summer

I agree with this.

Can't be arsed arguing, but he played well today. He came on to do a very specific job and that was the work the opposition when in possession. He played the role of a defensive forward. He did very well in that respect.

Once again, a lack of goals is blinding people to his actual play. Even for Mirallas goal he made the correct run to the back post to pick up the effort if it was dragged across, and if Anichebe hadn't shot wide when the blatantly obvious ball to Jelavic was on then we'd be talking about a Jelavic goal today.

I'm seeing the same pattern emerge as it did with Kevin Campbell. He was remarkable in keeping us up one year and a couple years later was disgraceful.

I groan whenever he has the ball for more than 2 touches.

He's just not cutting it. I wouldn't have him coming off the bench atm. He is a completely different kind of player to Anichebe and Mirallas, and atm his form is offering less than nothing to the team. Would rather see Naismith or Vellios coming on as forwards.

Clutching at straws there, I think.

He wasn't great.

I disagree Tubes.

Normally I think he does well without scoring, but I thought he did most things wrong today.

I still have the faith tho.

Might be worth watching it back mate - he ran his arse off when he came on, competed for everything. It was the correct sub too as Anichebe was blowing so Moyes brought Jelavic on to take the workload. Anichebe sat on the centre half and bullied him, Jelavic did the channel work.

I'm really not. All the above is true.
