Nikica Jelavic

Not too concerned. Many of our players took time to get going today and forwards have days when they are not in the game at all. Suarez came deep for the ball and ran. Thats not Jelavic's game. Service was not good enough.

Service is the key,he really is an out and out finisher doubt you'll see him ever take on three defenders and score after a 50 yd run

he has got good technique normally though and today he didnt seem to. i think hes had a dip in form but will regain it. Fulham is a tough game next week and i'd be very surprised if we won there.

Now... Just some thoughts...

I love this guy. He's ace.

But so you think he's been 'found out' a little in recent games?

Seems quite easy to nullify him. Take today, didnt do very much because he wasn't allowed to.

What's are people's thoughts?

Obviously he can still slot bossly but I have a niggling concern....

He didn't have a good game today but all players have there ups and down days or games that just don't suit them. IMO that's where I really worry about are squad to challange the top 4.... Really could of done with another quality striker to come on, unfortunately we havnt got any in reserve.

Even given his advancing years Donovan really could be a very important signing for so many posistions.

When he's not being supplied with balls from which he can shoot at goal, he offers little outside of hard graft. It's not going to change, so we might as well accept that about him.

Let's be honest, we all love him when he's feeding off supplies from Baines, Pienaar, Coleman and Mirallas. When he's not, he becomes isolated; that's the type of player he is. But at least he's a bit more mobile than Darren Bent.

Played very poorly today

Was like playing with 10 men most of the game

We badly need another striker at the club to give him competion for places

Totally agree.

It's ironic that Liverpool are crying out for a player in the mold of Jelavic while we cry out for a player in the mold of Suarez.

Mirallas looked that player in the first half.. we would've won comfortably with him still on the pitch.

Possibly mate, possibly. Would like to see him off the striker, ideally, with Pienaar back on the left, and maybe Naismith on the right. They could play interchangeable system behind Jelavic, with Gibson and Fellaini anchoring the middle.

i wouldn't say we're crying out for a racist. We'd created the most chances out of the top 5 divisions a few weeks back so i don't think a player like him is what we need, we just need a bit more contribution from midfield when jelly isn't firing, we got that today. Our main problem has been shipping goals this season though, probably based on a less than confident GK
