He did have some great policies. Namely economic. He was going to 'kick start germany's economy and sort out unemployment'. How the **** do people think he got voted in? If he didn't have good policies, he wouldn't have got in?! Of course when he got in, then his true purpose became apparent, but initially he had to appeal to the german people. I never said he successfully implemented those policies. Any historian will say exactly the same thing. Again, people desperate to point the finger and accuse without really thinking about it.

Democracy - I've always said that it is overrated.

People want to have their cake and eat it. A democratic system voted the Nazis into power. A democratic system recently reelected Chavez for another term.

The democratic system inherently sews the seeds of its own destruction by gradually favouring the extremist groups who promise the most and then wreck the country in trying to deliver on those promises and remain in power. It really is dangerous to give stupid people the right to vote.

It's said democracy is the worst form of government, except all the others that have been tried.

Not sure who said that.

I think a few historians will disagree with you mate actually . Hitler was a national socialist and has been said he invested money in massive rearmament md infrastructure whilst particularly in rearmament used promissory notes to circumvent interest rate & inflationary issues. In the view of many historians and economist this kind of policy allied to almost banning imports was effectively unsustainable without the annexation of neighbouring nations. would this financial policy have continued to 'work' without Lebensraum ?

I think this is too kind to the german public, Hitler never hid his extremist views on jews etc. He made it pretty clear what kind of leader he would be.

I think the immigration issue has gone well beyond ordinary party boundaries myself. Especially with the latest ridiculous edicts coming from Brussels. Nobody has seriously addressed the issue in 10-15 years.

Pretty much. Unemployment is really high and we're letting in more people from other countries then ever. Of course people are going to be upset about it. The EU free movement law is a fecking joke.

I don't care how skilled they are, if the job could go to a brit instead it should. But it won't be the politicians who feel the backlash, it'll be the indian family down the street who have been here since the 60s.

I think on the basis of your own argument you have just disqualified yourself from voting.

Your probably right. I also agree with Nik that people are frightened to discuss the issue for fear of being branded racist.

For me we cannot operate a benefits system and be a member of the EU with free movement. Regardless of the cost, it creates massive resentment and contributes to a less tolerant society.

9 out of 10 new jobs going to immigrants is shocking. I realise there not jobs Brits would ordinarily aspire to, but it's still not right.

Really? I thought that only started happening after he was elected. Jeez what was wrong with them?!

The whole of Europe had basically belittled and took advantage of the Germans since the end of WW1. They're strong, proud people. He gave them an enemy and a cause to focus on. Regardless of your beliefs how he mobilised a country and united them will be a lesson a lot of political leaders will have learnt from, hopefully for good.

Every retail job gets 66 applicants was another I read. It's an outrage and it needs to be stopped.

Sorry, you guys are way off the mark on immigrants.

They get the jobs because they are more willing and able to work, and that's because our State welfare system makes it perfectly comfortable not to work, and pays people not to work.

Thank God for the immigrants, I say, otherwise without them there would be lots of unfilled lower skill jobs that the natives think is beneath them.

The employement market is so skewed in favour of the employer it's gone beyond a joke.

A high wage/high cost economy is soon to become a low wage/high cost economy. People are rapidly running out of room to manouvre and hope.

Throw in a complete reluctance from the private sector to spend and a government reluctant to use public money on almost any type of stimulus and it worries me that things will become a lot worse. We can't afford to allow another generation to become accustomed to life on the state.

That said I think we'll soon see a big conservative push to stimulate the housing market and a psuedo attack on energy and oil companies to ensure they get back in.

Spot on.

Of course immigration is nessessary to sustain the economy. What is not nessessary is letting criminals from Albania in, or Muslim extremeists who literally do nothing but preach hate and live off our benefits. People need to have checks and valid reasons to be here. I'd start with scrapping the free movement thing. What a joke we are. KOFF IGOR LEAVE MY NANS CREDIT CARD ALONE.
