Newcastle fixture change

They wouldn't have changed man u or the rs at this short notice.
There's previous. I seem to recall 6 or 7 years ago they moved an Everton home game with Chelsea just 10 days in advance! Mates of mine lost a fortune on hotels and flights. What makes it even worse now is that, after a silently slipped in change to terms and conditions attached to tickets a couple of years ago, you can't even get your ticket money back now, even though your not using the ticket is something forced upon you by TV decisions! Scandalous and possibly illegal since in no way is the 'product' the one you thought you'd purchased.

Fortunately my train tickets were only £22rtn from Euston to Lime Street so in comparison to others who have flights and hotels it could be worse.

as a STH I always plan my trips for home and away games once the TV fixtures have been announced the most annoying thing about it for me is that was probably our last Saturday 3PM home game of the season (Southamptons relegation fight will probably be televised in May) and most of my friends that are also STH were also travelling up with me so it's a shame to lose that social part of the day out.

The amount of money and time off work I've spent especially in the first half of the season with the European home and away games I've cut back in the second half in terms of not committing to mid week. My annual leave resets in a few weeks but I just don't want to use any more of it on football this season!

It makes it worse that Arsenal aren't even in the semi finals yet not even having played the first leg. When we had Ruzomberok and a game away at Chelsea scheduled for the end of August after the 2nd leg of the last qualifying round both Everton and the Premier league refused to even mention the slight possibility that we might get into the next round and the game would move to a Sunday even though we all knew what was happening.

Hopefully Everton do a lot more than just that £5 offer on merchandise which is just an insult.

total joke this. Got non-refundable train tickets and a hotel booking with my old man. Could have still gone to the game if it was a sunday or even a friday but monday night is impossible.

Absolutely fuming with this.

Tickets barely through the letterbox and they've went and changed the date - absolutely appalling.

I get one trip to see Everton a year for my birthday because of the expense of coming down from Scotland/work commitments.

We'd booked the game on Saturday, stadium tour on the Sunday and trains to London on Monday morning (we were going to spend a few days there because we've never been before).
We bought two Foreverton memberships specifically to get priority access to this match and this match alone.

So now I have to decide whether to bin the match (the whole point of the trip) or to buy new train tickets to London on the Tuesday - expensive -and lose a pre-paid night in a hotel in London.

Oh and the train tickets and hotel stays are non-refundable because everything was booked months ago around the TV schedule Sky themselves put out.

Absolute disgrace the way fans are treated.

That's absolutely appalling that, could affected fans (from all clubs) not launch a class action legal fight against the club or the PL ? I mean that is short notice however you look at it and just sums up the way fans are pissed on by the powers that be. They claim "fans are the lifeblood" and other such crap when this is the reality. I can see in the not too distant future fans turning their back on this in ever larger numbers but they will simply use computer generated crowd noise to imitate the real crowd and carry on catering to the armchair fans (which I mostly am these days).

I haven't booked train tickets yet but I won't be coming back up for a Monday night, especially if it's televised. It's just not worth the 2 days leave and the expense.

It is ludicrously short notice, the fans need to be protected much better. There should be a window beginning 6 weeks prior where the fixture cannot be changed.

My grandaughter was due to be mascot at the game on its original date. My son paid the balance on Wednesday evening.
Because of the change of date, it is now impracticable for us to do the 300 mile round trip. The stance from the club seems to be one of intransigence. The date cannot be transferred to next season as they are all booked already. Refund of the not inconsiderable sum is out of the question due to the T&C which highlight the possibility of fixture change.
People's Club eh?

Too many whining out of towners on here.If you don't like it support a local team or just move to Liverpool if you want to watch Everton at any kick off time, and go on benefits,it's what we do here.

I dont know why Sky just didnt have no games on Monay night that week, but if they need one at least go for Palace Watford, which isnt a derby I know but there isnt a lot of travel distance, its not like our game has much riding on it
