My grandaughter was due to be mascot at the game on its original date. My son paid the balance on Wednesday evening.
Because of the change of date, it is now impracticable for us to do the 300 mile round trip. The stance from the club seems to be one of intransigence. The date cannot be transferred to next season as they are all booked already. Refund of the not inconsiderable sum is out of the question due to the T&C which highlight the possibility of fixture change.
People's Club eh?
That is downright disgusting, Tommy.
EFC is a total disgrace for not at least re-funding the money, but also by not finding a way to include the little girl as a mascot in some capacity in a forthcoming match either in what remains of this season or into next season.
I would try and have this issue raised in the media.
The club made a great fuss and enjoyed positive publicity when they brought that chap over from Thailand or the Phillipines the time the Palace game was postponed.
This is the opposite of that and this dirty deed needs to be highlighted and the club needs shaming among our own fan base.
As others have said, this practice of moving games at such short notice, after the televised fixtures have been announced, needs to be stopped dead in its tracks.
The EPL and Sky both go to great lengths to promote their “product” all around the world and they are well aware that people overseas, as well as right here in England, travel to these games and book non refundable planes, trains and hotel rooms based on a list supplied by both parties on a certain date.
Totally disgraceful.
