Newcastle fixture change

Absolutely fuming with this.

Tickets barely through the letterbox and they've went and changed the date - absolutely appalling.

I get one trip to see Everton a year for my birthday because of the expense of coming down from Scotland/work commitments.

We'd booked the game on Saturday, stadium tour on the Sunday and trains to London on Monday morning (we were going to spend a few days there because we've never been before).
We bought two Foreverton memberships specifically to get priority access to this match and this match alone.

So now I have to decide whether to bin the match (the whole point of the trip) or to buy new train tickets to London on the Tuesday - expensive -and lose a pre-paid night in a hotel in London.

Oh and the train tickets and hotel stays are non-refundable because everything was booked months ago around the TV schedule Sky themselves put out.

Absolute disgrace the way fans are treated.
It's the price to be paid for the obscene amounts of money thrown to the clubs from Sky,the clubs reap the rewards, the fans get the short end of the stick.

I think you'll find it was tongue in cheek, although a bit insensitive for some fans.
I recognise that completely but the fume I'm experiencing on this matter is negating any sense of humour I would normally have had.
I mean coughing up over £700 for the privilege at a time when I suspect wholeheartedly that the club knew the fixture was about to change leaves a nasty taste.

Way out out of line with that comment on many fronts.

Sadly they have you over a barrel with T&Cs but you'd think a billionaire club like ours would refund travel expenses to it's loyal fans. But then we have an accountant for an owner who would probably want a cost benefit analysis.

The fee for the honour of being a mascot at this game was going to EITC. I wouldn't want to deprive that cause of any monies.
But when the club concedes there is some disruption to people's plans and issues gift vouchers to those who've bought tickets, then my argument is that there is room for a mutually agreeable compromise.

55 members from ESCNI had already booked for this game. Flights, hotel etc. No doubt a lot of disappointed kids.

Once sky/BT announed their live matches for April that should have been it, no further changes.

I'm taking my lad to see his first game to this. I live 100 miles away and we were going to make a day of it. Now I have to decide whether to go at all (he's 7 and we would get home at 11.30 pm on a school night). This all happened a matter of hours after I bought the tickets, really poor from Sky and the club has been really passive about it as well. I get that there are Monday night games, I get the importance of the TV money but the timelines here are disgraceful.

My grandaughter was due to be mascot at the game on its original date. My son paid the balance on Wednesday evening.
Because of the change of date, it is now impracticable for us to do the 300 mile round trip. The stance from the club seems to be one of intransigence. The date cannot be transferred to next season as they are all booked already. Refund of the not inconsiderable sum is out of the question due to the T&C which highlight the possibility of fixture change.
People's Club eh?

That is downright disgusting, Tommy.

EFC is a total disgrace for not at least re-funding the money, but also by not finding a way to include the little girl as a mascot in some capacity in a forthcoming match either in what remains of this season or into next season.

I would try and have this issue raised in the media.

The club made a great fuss and enjoyed positive publicity when they brought that chap over from Thailand or the Phillipines the time the Palace game was postponed.

This is the opposite of that and this dirty deed needs to be highlighted and the club needs shaming among our own fan base.

As others have said, this practice of moving games at such short notice, after the televised fixtures have been announced, needs to be stopped dead in its tracks.

The EPL and Sky both go to great lengths to promote their “product” all around the world and they are well aware that people overseas, as well as right here in England, travel to these games and book non refundable planes, trains and hotel rooms based on a list supplied by both parties on a certain date.

Totally disgraceful.

I phoned up the club to ask for a refund on my season ticket as I can’t make it now, they said they can’t refund and advised me to put it on StubHub

My older brother and son rang up and got refunded as the change by Sky TV was short notice|!

Yes, I imagine the club would be legally obliged to refund tickets sold for a game on a certain date which was arbitrarily changed at short notice Joey.

It is the people who have already bought train or plane tickets are the ones going be out of pocket as their travel bargains are non refundable

My last comment on the matter.
A steadfast refusal by the club to entertain any sort of compromise on the money paid for my grandaughter being mascot and being unable to undertake the position due to the fixture change.
Gone down in my estimation Everton.

have you contacted any media outlets (obviously not sky)? bad publicity usually has a reaction.
