After we lost at home to Newcastle, their first away win of the season, Moyes said we couldn't hope to compete with Newcastle because they were several levels above us. Therefore he must think that was one of his best ever wins. Either that or he was talking cobblers, which was my thoughts at the time.
Going back to that game, there were too many players off it on the day. I think the efforts at old Trafford were telling.

Well like i said to you the other day there is still over 1/4 of the season to go, progress will depend on them remaining games, depending on results tomorrow 4/5 points could separate us to 14th
Dyche’s last season with a much worse squad got 48, without the deduction. Then the same points last year.

So as for progress, let’s see as Moyes spent 130 in the summer. And we’re taking about him taking over from one of the worst managers in our history.

Progress is already made

130 mill isn't much and also clubs have had more summers more spending etc .

We're still playing catch up

Great result. I've been on holiday, so I think that is the first game I've not seen this season (unless I have forgotten one). Sounds like it was a stressful watch at the end - maybe I should always do this with our games!! 😂

Barcodes fan forum. Praise indeed from one poster:
'...Special mention in magnanimous defeat for one of the greatest saves I've seen in person and it had to to be the obnoxious charva mackem [Poor language removed] that's Jordan Pickford...'

🤣 🤣

Another:
'...That Pickford save at the end is probably the best save I've ever seen live...'

And more grudging respect:
'...Pickford’s a bit of a [...] but I’d welcome him here...'

Well, to be fair, mate, you could have taken great offence at my sarcasm, so kudos for your equanimity. I suppose in any performance, whether peak Barcelona or Real Madrid, or even England at Wembley in 1966, there are areas to improve upon, so I accept your point to that extent. On the other hand that allows people to nit pick on whatever our boys produce, however good and beyond what our team budget would justify as par for our spend. Everton did great today, as they have time and again this season. Fair enough, we aren't the best in the league, but our recent history, player budget, and some dodgy buys, don't suggest we're capable of totally wiping the floor with any Premier League opponents, however more relaxed that would make we supporters feel on match day. Let's just celebrate and enjoy good and winning performances, eh?
Couldn’t agree more. For most of your comments. I just think if we're to improve we need to be more comfortable when we're winning. We were the same for the most part in Moyes first spell in charge. Backs to wall and clinging on.
