Not a fan of Mykolenko but no other options at left back means he has to play especially when our best central back is available.

O'Brien is back and I would rather swap him out for Tarkowski but Moyes won't do that. So he might get the right back spot but I want to rid this square pegs in round holes and play a right back at right back so Patterson who has been unfairly treated given he has done well in every opportunity he has this season.

Having full backs playing their positions will give us more balance and support for the wide midfielders.

Gueye has to come out for Rohl who was very very harshly replaced. Since his return from AFCON he has huffed and puffed but largely struggled. Rohl for me would provide a lot of height and additional stronger passing v Gueye especially if Woltemade who totally dominate us at home.

Another string to Rohl's bow, he could easily move forward into the No 10 role for KDH to provide that "Fellaini" option for a more direct play.

Armstrong was fine at right midfield but ultimately he struggled to support the attacking elements we sorely needed. George is a more direct threat who will be up against Tripper so his pace will give us another option on the offensive.

Making these changes also allows some of the squad to have a rest against Burnley on Tuesday.

This is the team to play, not a chance it happens though.

That was pathetic. Asking Moyes a question about playing JB and Armstrong ahead of Aznou but to scared too mention the player by name. Then given a second chance because Moyes misinterpreted the question, thinking it was about young players gaining experience out wide. Completely bottled it.

Weak and scared “journalism.” Getting paid for that too.
Yeah that was dumb. Absolutely no point to questions the manager can interpret and answer in his own way which allows him to set the narrative.

"David, many fans are desperate to see Jarrad Branthwaite back in his natural position at centre back, where he was Player of the Season last year. Is the fact he's playing left back down to Michael Keane and James Tarkowski's form keeping him out of his most effective position, or do you now deem him to be a left back? And what does Jarrad make of being played at full back?"

Follow up with "Do you think him playing left back will aid his chances of stealing a space in the World Cup squad?"

BS would be in full flow answering those two questions.

Take out the Villa result we are still 9 points ahead of West Ham.
Stop chatting wham .
I think my post ( which was a reply to the 2026 form table ) has lost that context, unfortunately! A few replies often does remove the initial point of a post... so on its own it does look incorrect / gloomy, without that form table.

Using the 2026, we're bottom 6. take out the villa result, bottom 3... ( That was my point).

That run of games so far was mostly against lower teams, vs our run in now which is mostly top/ mid table, or upstarts like palace and Sunderland, who've shown a bit of form.

Like our push for Europe, 'Why Not...?'

Well, its because of you mainly, Divvy Dave.

I know we are away from home. I know he's bigged up Newcastle in the presser. But, for the love of all things holy, please please play our pro footballers in their right positions from the start - LB Myko, RB Patto, drop Gana, Keane and Tarks, our best CBs at CB, 2x actual wingers and KDH and Garner in CM. Perm either striker. But we just know its going to be Tarks, Gana and Keane first names on the teamsheet, JOB at RB, Branthwaite at LB, etc. I'm just waiting for him to play O'Neil instead of Skilliman and Armstrong again on the left to keep it tight, 2x like for like subs at at 70 mins when we're 2-0 down, and then claim we deserved more from the game...

2-0 to the North Mackems.
Thanks for at least not making this the pre-match write-up ( accurate as it likely is ) 🫣
