I thought they might do something like moyes until the summer then move him upstairs for Carsley to take over.

Probably not a realistic option but wouldn't fancy dropping carsley into a relegation fight.

Because it would be a succession plan. He'd be there for three years and then Carsley would take over. Lee is not daft enough to think he is ready for a top job yet at this level.

No one is coming on the promise of a job in 3 years! Who lasts longer than 18 months these days!

Not a top job, no.
But he could easily find work in the championship and go from there.

Why? Guys like Mourinho show it can be a good path to serve an apprenticeship at the top level and then take a top job rather than risk getting chewed up in a lower division.

In the circumstances, I'd take Moyes for 18 months. He'll give us some stability, make us competitive again in our first season in BMD and then we can find a long-term manager who can build on that.

Hidden from the chaos of summer–Who’s going where, leaving where? Where is up, where is down?–is Paulo Fonseca.
