New Healthy Start

Struggling at the mo. Exercise is my way out. I'll come home, go for a run , clear my head, get home lift a few weights and all is good. I'm far from a keep fit addict but if I feel I'm putting a bit of weight on I'll do 4/6 weeks of running every day until I'm back at my usual weight. I was doing really well a couple of weeks ago, down to my ideal weight which I never thought I could get too but then I hurt my back and struggling to do anything. Usually I like to try a drop a few pounds ready for X-mas this time of year but having to wait until the pain eases which is depressing. Hate being on tablets and the feeling that I've not done anything. To be honest I'm struggling to fill the time without drinking/gambling to keep me entertained and not sleeping very well due to the pain and the fact that the exercise usually knocks me out. Hate getting older.

BS rules if you ask me mate... any of my staff have immediate family health issues, I let them take (paid) time off.
Have always worked that way and enjoyed the same reciprocal from the various hierarchies I've worked for.
Family comes first mate, everyday of the week and twice on a Sunday !!!

That's the thing with paid compassionate leave mate. If it's immediate/emergency then that's usually allowed but anything 'planned' is not.

To be honest mate its great you have that desire to go out running. Part of what slowed me down was that I couldn't be arsed doing exercises at 10 of clock at night so least you know once your back is better you can go back to it.

I'd rather be able to enjoy food and know I will do something about it once the clothes get tight than worry about my weight all the time! just don't stress too much about it, relax and recover right now

Overcome with emotion here - a proud day indeed.

Could somebody please explain the problem with the word pants; I don't see one as a non-native speaker. I also hear it a lot on American television; for instance: he's trying to get in her pants.

I also know the uses like: Your car is pants.

Pants is what Americans use for trousers mate. And frankly we've had enough of them butchering the English language so trousers it is. Because they're trousers and not a pair of Y fronts.

Weigh in this week.

.4 of a kilogram off. Not the greatest weight in of all time but still going in the right direction. I would imagine this week being skint week means i should shift a bit more by monday considering i know what i will be eating (pasta/lasagne/spag bol/chicken smash and veg) so less chance of over indulging.

But yeah, this is where i wanted to be at, not as slow but life isn;t perfect. Just be dropping weight bit by bit, eating better for the most part (salad every day in work) Eating less overall and being able to compensate a little for eating something unhealthy. Granted last week proved how what i can eat can have a negative effect with the low drop but then getting rid of them all this week should see a more positive shift next week, if i can lose 2 pounds by monday i think i will try to drop it the week after as well though so i go into the wedding under 15 stone which would be a great bonus.

The first load of weight that your body loses Ash is excess fluid, which is relatively easy to shift. Shifting fat is harder and takes longer. The fact that your losing weight more slowly now, points to the fact that the execess fliud has gone and it's now the fat that's being burnt. Losing weight slowly is the correct and healthy way to do it. Keep up the good work you nut job ;)

Just did a hiit session in my lunch break there.

Do you get a lunch break Ash? Could be a bit of time. Only needs about 20 minutes and no equipment.
I may look into that, but would involve me being outside and in a coat haha

If i do drop 2 pounds this week (which i will try to be more active to help) then i may go back to exercise for a week or so, just so i get the 4 pounds off. As long as i am dropping then i take it as a good sign, may take months rather than weeks to get there but more sustainable and would like to think once i got down eventually it would be easy to manage then because i have been doing it for so long.

Oh yeah should have checked how far from home you work. They are good though. I'll finish it off with 20k on the bike later.

With your weight thing, keep in mind the festive season and your big day coming up. Don't let it stop you having fun at those.

Think i have already shifted that bit of weight in the beginning haha

I'm losing less because i'm not pushing for it. I am having a biscuit or something less perfect for a meal at times but with the idea that as long as i can keep dropping bit by bit then 4 months from now i will still be able to maintain it more, if that makes sense. Last week wasn't good for it sure, but this week will be far better for it.

If i had been doing the start still now, then i'd probably be down to 13 stone already easy, but be miserable and more open to gaining again when i can eat thing again. Least this way i can eat more of what i want within reason and still know the other parts are counting.

Plus side thought. Back when i had a fitness kick years ago by the end of it i couldn't even finish a full meal from a restuarant because i was then used to eating less. Same as what i am doing now, cutting from what i had for lunch for arguments sake down to just a salad. Sure it is weird still now when i don't have snacks afterwards but again over time i won't want to have snacks because i have spent so many days not doing it.

I am keeping that in mind yeah, probably why i want to try and shift under 15 by then (3 weeks) so at leas ti know where i am in regards to that. Then another weigh in before christmas will give me a rough idea of how mindful i have to be away from the dinner lol

This is why i am more relaxed now, like the other week with the scotland trip and the stag do. I knew it would be pointless dropping weight to gain it again by the weekend so left it alone, then started up after i had done them both.
